When I periodically see takes like "Ciel is just as cruel as Sebastian, he's a psychopath, those two deserve each other" — I feel kinda weird... like... are we talking about the same Ciel who always instinctively threw himself in front of Lizzie to protect her the moment danger appeared? The one who isn't ashamed of his clumsy, weird servants in front of society (even if he might cringe at them in the moment), personally takes them shopping and buys them everything they need? Who avoids killing someone when there's a way not to? Who buried a unmourned woman he couldn't save from Jack the Ripper? Who, after killing Baron Kelvin, went all the way to the middle of nowhere to help the orphanage that Kelvin had been sponsoring (even if he failed to do this for reasons beyond his control)? Who thought the prefects insane when they said they killed the bullies to protect the college's honor? Who didn't just kidnap Sieglinde and bring her to England the easy way, but instead gave her a new purpose in life and made sure she got the Queen's patronage so she could live freely, doing what she loves, together with her loyal butler? Who helped two annoying strangers — Agni and Soma — and then didn't turn Agni in to the police, and let them live in his townhouse? Who was absolutely devastated when Agni was killed indirectly because of him? Who deep down still regrets that he didn't die instead of his brother, and who doesn't believe he's worthy of being saved?
