I made a cross-stitch pattern for Pride month based on Gilbert Baker's original pride flag colors and their meanings. the pattern is about 80 x 100 stitches. I'm hoping to have it stitched in time for June next year, but I'm posting it here so everyone else can try it out too! 🏳️🌈

I’ve not been posting much here, but I have been stitching! It’s taken me about a year, but I’m finally done with the cross-stitch part of this project. Now all that’s left is the blackwork for the background. I’ve worked so hard on this project, and I think she looks great, so I’m sharing with you all now, even though I’m far from finished.

Can’t hug a kangaroo without killing a few infant kangaroos
I’ve been listening through the My Brother My Brother And Me podcast from the very beginning, and when I got to episode 53: Doctor Jamilton, Justin asked for a cross-stitch of this line. I just had to oblige with a pattern, even if I am a few years late.
(No kangaroos were harmed in the making of this pattern)
When i saw the Tapestry item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, I knew I had to re-make it as a cross-stitch pattern! This version is called “Fairy Tale.” There’s five other designs in the game, so if anyone has a different one to trade, please let me know (and hopefully I can translate those into patterns as well!)

Me: You know, Vivienne’s tarot card would make a lovely cross-stitch pattern. It will be easy, just throw it into cstitch! I’d have to fix the colors, of course. And clean up the background so it’s not muddy. redraft that chalice, Draw new lines so everything is nice and neat, redraw that circle entirely, reduce to a manageable amount of thread colors, change the colors of her clothes, and the background...
... and wouldn’t it look nice if the background panels were all in blackwork?

Another free cross-stitch pattern I made based on the meme image.(hopefully it’s still legible once tumblr resizes it. If not, watch this space for the PDF version) it should work out to about 15x11 inches on 14 count aida cloth. I really like this meme because I’m a big proponent of critically thinking about the media that we consume, and it serves as an amusing reminder to employ a critical lens!
