So there you have it, folks, SHANE RICHARD ACKER SAID NON-BINARY RIGHTS!

I found the website of Patrick Awa, a concept designer who worked on the film in it’s early development stages. In one of his posts he writes this:

Also the idea of an ”artificial soul” sounds hella.

and thats why she hunts the stitchpunks, bcs she sees those souls as belonging to her - it isnt fair that she was locked away and tormented only for her creator to make new things with the one thing she wanted more than anything

and because she doesnt have a soul, she doesnt really care about other beings: humans, stitchpunks, hell the earth itself. shes all raw emotion (she hurts others when shes hurt, she becomes enraged at the stitchpunks destroying her beloved creations even after she’d killed two) and brimming with creativity from being locked away and forced into making the same thing over and over and over against her will, and if she wants something by god she is going to take it

but two isnt enough, so she takes another. and another. but she doesn’t feel whole - she doesnt feel right because these souls are their own separate identity. so if she gets all of them she’ll finally be her own person right? that has to be it right?
