I stepped away from nursing to protect patients β now my children are paying the price
Iβm a hospital nurse, and this is the hardest thing Iβve ever had to write.
My job requires constant focus and clear judgment. One lapse in concentration, one moment of instability, can cost a patient their life. As my health declined, I was forced to confront a terrifying truth: continuing to work like this could put patients in danger.
I live with Bipolar Disorder, severe panic attacks, and chronic neurological pain (Trigeminal Neuralgia) β a condition known for causing intense, disabling pain. I tried to push through, but the combination of mental strain and physical suffering made it impossible to provide the level of care my patients deserve.
So I made the most painful professional decision of my life. I stepped away and took unpaid medical leave. I chose patient safety over my own survival.
Now, the reality is crushing.
I am a parent to two very young children β a 6-month-old infant and a 2-year-old toddler. I am struggling to afford formula, diapers, and even winter clothes for them. My brother has become their primary provider. I am deeply grateful, but the weight of depending on him β of feeling like a burden β is breaking me.
I borrowed money just to keep my children fed. Those debts are now being demanded back. I am trapped between a job I cannot safely do and a family I cannot adequately provide for.
This winter is cold. We are struggling with rent, electricity, and basic food. I am reaching out for mutual aid β not pity, but a bridge to survive this period without harming anyone.
Even $3β$5 helps more than you can imagine. If you canβt donate, please Reblog so this reaches someone who can.
Support goes directly to food, heating, and basic needs for my children.
PayPal: π https://www.paypal.me/YassinMoh808
Transparency: I am under formal psychiatric and medical care with documented diagnoses. I can share redacted verification privately if needed.
I will post updates if Iβm able to stabilize basics like food or heating.
Thank you for stopping. Thank you for seeing my children as lives that matter.
