Premise: Jennifer WAKES UP on the porch in 1985A after Marty & Doc leave her & Einstein there. Einstein comes and finds her on the porch and wakes her up, prompting Jennifer to go "WHERE THE HELL AM I" and stumble into the town square. (Stealing this from girls to the future but whatever) She's at the front of Biff's Pleasure Paradise when she hears Marty's voice. Oh thank god, something familiar, she thinks. But when she finally gets in there and sees Marty for herself it is very evident that this is not the Marty she knows. And she is not the Jennifer he knows.

Marty wasn’t sure how much longer he could keep this up.

He stood in front of Doc’s fireplace, waiting for the boys to join him for a story, when Jules marched in with a wagon of books, a blank notebook, and an unsettling amount of determination in his eye.

“We are going to get to the bottom of this D. B. Cooper nonsense once and for all.”

Marty smirked. These were not titles affiliated with the mystery.

“The Ego and the Id?”

Jules sat down, opened a book, and pointed at Marty’s head.

“You’re sick.”

Doc's Revolver

As the Libyan’s van burned in Fox Photo Booth as sirens wailed in the distance, Doc and Marty hurried to collect everything from Temporal Experiment #1 and get out of the Lone Pine parking lot.

Doc took care of the plutonium.

“Come on, Einie! In the van!”

Marty grabbed up the vanity plate and Doc’s revolver.

A sourness swelled in the back of Marty’s throat that made him gag.

Would he ever stop seeing it—his best friend gunned down? 

He hadn’t been able to stop it all week in 1955, so the answer was probably not.

“Marty! The sirens!”

Echoes in the Ravine

Some days, Doc doubts. 

He’ll visit that bridge and hear it all, see it all—wonder if Marty actually made it back, or if the space-time continuum just swallowed him whole.

He searches for wreckage on the bad days, despite swearing he heard the sonic boom before the train hit the bottom of the ravine and rumbled the red earth under his feet.

Clara finds him tinkering with the Hoverboard when he can’t sleep, trying to figure out how to apply its electromagnetic properties to another locomotive with the period’s technological restraints.

“He made it, Emmett.”

“I know.”

“Sorry about your barn.”
