Starlight Express Art!!

HI. HELLO.

So uhhh. I’m making a Starlight Express animated film.

I don’t know how this happened either. One minute I was minding my business, the next minute my brain was like “what if StEx but anime???” and I just… didn’t say no.

So now I’m here. With a whole project. And zero self‑control.

WHAT THIS THING IS GONNA BE (PROBABLY.. HOPEFULLY… PRAYING-)

StEx characters but with anime hair that defies physics Dramatic lighting for NO REASON WHATSOEVER BC WHY TF NOT Rusty being the most dramatic little guy alive Greaseball being buff Elvis who can’t spell Electra being… Electra. I don’t have the words to describe them dude- Everyone having emotional breakdowns Me suffering but like… for gay trains.

I NEED ANIMATORS. LIKE PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING.

Okay so listen. I can draw. I can storyboard. I can scream into the void. But I cannot animate an entire StEx film by myself unless you want it finished in the year 4057.

So I’m looking for people who actually have experience with animation. 2D, 3D, tweening, frame‑by‑frame, whatever — if you’ve animated before and you know what you’re doing, I need you.

What I’m looking for: • People who can animate characters (humanoid, train‑ish, whatever StEx counts as) • People who can handle effects (speed, lighting, sparkles, chaos) • People who understand timing and movement so everyone doesn’t look like a cursed flipbook • People who can commit to a project without disappearing into the void (I say this with love)

Sooo we already made a VA post and we’ve gotten some auditions (and some people said they’re gonna send theirs soon, bless you), BUT we still need more voices because this cast is huge and I refuse to voice 12 characters myself like a feral gremlin.

I’m looking for voice actors with actual experience. Like. People who know how to record clean audio and not sound like they’re trapped inside a microwave.

What I need: • People who can act (like ACT act, not “read lines like a confused NPC”) • People with decent mics • People who can do emotional scenes without sounding like they’re ordering at McDonald’s • People who won’t vanish into the void mid‑project (again, I say this with love) - YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SING!!

We’ve already got some amazing auditions, but we’re still finding voice actors for literally everyone-

Just a quick reminder that since this is StEx, I do need singing samples too. If you’re auditioning for a character, please send a little singing clip along with it. Doesn’t have to be fancy, just… y’know… not recorded in a wind tunnel.

Just to extra‑extra reinforce this: I REALLY need experienced animators. Like. This project is gonna live or die based on animation, so if you’ve got skills, I will literally roll out a red carpet for you.

Voice actors, singers, artists — I love you all too, but animators… you are the chosen ones.
