He is scared of being a terrible and neglectful drunkard of a father. And he is terrified of his children inheriting the dragon dreams.

So, after spending a whole day with the ladies who kept asking you about your future babe, you shyly bring it up that evening in your chambers. Daeron raises his eyebrow at you. "You wish for a babe?" He asks, swallowing thickly. He loves you and doesn't want to deny you anything.

"Do you?" You ask, unsurely.

"Only if you do," Daeron nods, awkwardly.

"I do not," you take a deep breath.

Short silence occurs. Daeron breaks it, eventually, as he laughs nervously and shakes his head.

"We have that settled then," he announces and you smile widely.

Maekar asks sometimes about the future heir of Summerhall but he is not being pushy because he knows his son would not make the best father. Daeron is in a comfortable position because he is the fourth's son heir, so it doesn't really matter. He also has brothers, so his father's direct bloodline is safe no matter if he contributes to it or not.

"I am, too," you confess, looking down. "In fact, it is my greatest fear."
