It's chest and back day, and I do something with my legs every workout to avoid what a friend once termed a "prison body" — massive upper body, skinny chicken legs. I'm old so I use the machine for bench press, 3 x 12, 165 lbs. Then hack squats, 3x10, go lightweight cuz I have to be careful with my hips (I'm a human golden retriever — pale red-blonde hair, friendly but with a loud bark, smart but sometimes guileless, hip dysplasia). Rows, 3x12, 120 lbs. But first! One-mile run on the treadmill, then cool off after lifting with a one-mile walk.

Possible additions — face-pulls, relatively low weight on the stack, high reps. Therapeutic for the shoulders that way, and it builds the traps. Also may opt for deadlifts with a trap bar, relatively light, 3x8 reps, and then Roman chair crunches. Might finish the whole thing with 52-lb kettlebell swings (Russian style, not American — those are lame).
