I’ve only played the games for maybe like.. an hour in total. Fighting games aren’t really my thing anymore.

ANYWAYS

if you don’t know the plot of the game/comic it is simply this

*deep breath* In an alternate universe The Joker tricks Superman into killing a pregnant Lois Lane which also detonates a nuke which destroys metropolis so Superman kills the joker by punching his lungs out and then he becomes a tyranical dictator who kills criminals and anyone who opposes him so of course batman and a few other oppose him and there’s fights and alternate universe heroes/villains and betrayals and super pills and it’s FUCKING RIDICULOUS AND AWESOME.

Let’s look at some highlights of this comic shall we

Superman tweets out that Bruce Wayne is batman

Superman breaks batmans back and then proceeds to get absolutely fucked up by Alfred ‘I used to be in the SAS’ Pennyworth (he’d taken a super pill)

Superman nearly gets finished off by a Squirrel

Superman is scared of Plastic Man

Harley reveals she has a daughter by joker in tbh what is quite an emotional scene which also starts a fun friendship with Dinah and Ollie.

Black Canary fucks up Superman and is only stopped when he gets a yellow lantern ring.

Superman kills Ganthet and Mogo by ramming Ganthet into Mogo and then pushing them both into the sun.

AAAAAAAAAND

Lobo gets a green lantern ring and the second thing he does after booting Dex-Starr into another galaxy is making a penis shaped construct and batter Atrocitus with it.

There’s dozens and dozens more great moments but that would be totally spoiling it ya feel me?

If you removed mark Millar’s name from this you and asked 100 people to guess who wrote it i can guarantee that no more than 5 people would guess Millar. This is the most un-millar comic he’s ever done. It’s fun for all the family.

The plot is simple. Forty years ago he saved the universe and then he went home and settled down. Now his wife is dead and his kids have left home and he’s got nothing going for him.. until he gets a call for help from a planet he saved. It’s basically an unofficial sequel to Flash Gordon. And it’s GLORIOUS!

The art by Goran parlov is beautiful and he needs more work.

Still waiting for the netflix show.

Strikeforce #1

At the weekend i finally got around to watching

Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut

this isn’t like a directors cut where they just add 5 minutes of footage in.

There’s a lot of changes from the theatrical release. A lot of the funnier stuff put in by Richard Lester was removed. There’s more Jor-El. There’s no Eiffel tower scene and instead they use one of the missiles from the first film as the catalyst that unleashes Zod and his gang. And at the end he flies around the earth reversing time (they took this and used it for the first film)

Oh and they even use a screen test between Reeve and Kidder for a scene. but yeah
