Cartinelli Thoughts #2
-Usually Jarvis is around to patch up Peggy but sometimes he isnât and Angie gets real good at dealing with the blood. Peggy apologises incessantly, deliriously, and Angie wonât hear any of it. âI was pretty distracted in our girls-only home-ec class, but I remember how to sew at least.âÂ
-When Peggy is feeling playful, she rigs up two cups and a string. Angie really doesnât know what to expect when she follows the note on the door to raise the cup to her ear. Peggy still chuckles at the way she blushed at the whispered âI love youâ.Â
-Angie is in trouble 24/7. Whether itâs some sexist douche-nozzle at the L&L attempting to feel her up or a lonely kitten in the rain, or forgetting the sauce on the stove because Peggy just got home and, âEnglish! English I got the part!!!â It shocks Peggy at first, just how much trouble this Thesbian can get into, but she learns that itâs probably just Angieâs energy for life (and oddly enough that never seems to get her into trouble in bed).
-Also, the mansion is covered in strays. Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, plants⌠you name it, Angieâs picked it up off a sidewalk somewhere. And itâs not like Peggy can complain because sheâs one of them.
-Peggy likes useful things. She understands that art, in all its forms, is necessary for a culture to grow and thrive, but itâs not really for her. Until she finally concedes to Angie and goes to an art gallery with her Thesbian girlfriend. Angie looks at art the same way she looks at cooking. Itâs something you can learn from another (you can even perfect their ways) but youâll never be a master until you can add your own flairs. Peggy looked into Angieâs eyes when Angie tried to explain this, and Peggy began finding art in everything Angie did. The way she walked, talked, hummed, waved goodbye, even winked in a dark room. Peggy very much appreciates the art that Angie shares every day.
-Peggyâs only been truly shit-faced around Angie once and Angie NEVER let her live it down. Because the prim and proper British agent has a Cockney accent when sheâs really drunk.
The Redhead in the Middle
Peggy loves Angie
That was never in question. It was the hours and hours she was away. The days and days that Angie spent waiting. The months and months that neither could see each other. The years and years finally working their way into both of their skin (into their bones and joints especially on wet days).
Angie loves Peggy
The day Peggy, now hair streaked with white (far earlier than her age should allow) and skin etched with both laugh and worry lines, walked through their door and declared herself a desk worker (for good this time my darling, I am much too old for this), a weight Angie had grown too used to carrying finally fell from her shoulders.
The red-headed teen that followed Peggy inside (with eyes like diamonds, cutting and cold) kept Angie from wrapping her lightened arms aroung her loverâs waist. Angieâd seen kids like that. Hunted or hunters it didnât matter, they were all breaking inside.
So she didnât ask when Peggy smiled and pulled an extra plate from the pantry. She didnât ask when Peggy didnât dish them up in the kitchen, when she placed the pot in the middle of the table and served them all at the same time. She didnât ask when the girl watched as they each took their first few bites.
She didnât cry when the girlâs eyes widened at the rather poor excuse for true spaghetti pomodoro and reached for another helping.
It wasnât until the girl was in her room (a locking door and weâre right across the hall if you need anything at all) that Angie asked.
Peggy only smiled the saddest of smiles and kissed Angie on the cheek, âSheâs going to be my replacement in the field.â
Angie would never tell a soul, but she was so relieved that this girl (with shoulders so thin for the weight that would rest on them) had walked into their life.
A new weight settled on her back only three weeks later when the redhead (a common sight in their home) walked in with reddened knucles and a purpling cheek.
Natasha Romanov had never trusted anyone, had never known the love of a mother, but that day she trusted Angie (Angie and her bickering about fixing up two operatives, her gentle touches, her shockingly worried glances to Peggy who leaned against the bathroom doorframe and chuckled softly) and gained the love of two would-be mothers.

All is well, âAgent Carterâ fans. Our darling Englishwoman, Hayley Atwell, is back as the star of another television show.
Atwell returns in âConviction,â a legal drama that follows a team of lawyers, investigators and forensics experts as they set out to prove the innocence of people who may have been wrongly convicted of crimes.
Atwellâs character, Hayes Morrison, is the former daughter of a U.S. president and leads the Conviction Integrity Unit in Los Angeles. Joining Atwell are co-stars Shawn Ashmore (the âX-Menâ movies), Eddie Cahill, Merrin Dungey, Emily Kinney and Manny Montana.
Though âMarvelâs Agent Carterâ had a loyal cult following, it didnât draw in the kind of audience needed to consider Hayley Atwell a star. So while Marvel fans will immediately recognize Atwell, the premise of âConvictionâ is what needs to be strong to carry it through the fall chopping block. The fact that itâs taking over the Monday at 9 p.m. time slot left behind by âCastleâ should help cushion it in the early episodes. But it will still need help.
If you love Hayley Atwell and want to see her star in her own TV show for years to come, you need to watch this show live.
âConvictionâ premieres Monday, Oct. 3 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
