TSDL: 2013 SIIF Recipients
These Sternies dedicated this past summer to making a positive change, working at the intersection of business and society. Congrats to the 2013 Social Impact Internship Fund recipients! Let's celebrate their hard work and raise money for this year's class this Friday at TSDL.
 Minden spent last summer as an intern at the Mayor’s Center for Economic Opportunity. Supporting the office’s anti-poverty efforts, she benchmarked program impact against national standards, assisted with data analysis, and conducted research to create “case studies” of program successes and challenges.
Shani spent last summer with the Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit organization that makes business talent available to organizations working to improve society. She was responsible for an online marketing and social media strategy for the organization.
 Cassidy spent last summer as a consultant with the National Park Service. She participated in the National Parks Business Plan internship program, which is a partnership between Net Impact and the Business Management Group of the National Park Service.
Jessica spent last summer as an Assurance Summer Associate with B Lab, a nonprofit that certifies B Corporations and organizes the Global Impact Investing Rating System (GIIRS). She completed on-site reviews of the social and environmental practices of a random sample of 10% of all certified B Corporations.
Jenny spent last summer in Brazil with IMAFLORA, an NGO dedicated to encouraging changes in forestry and agriculture, promoting the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources, and generating social benefits. She developed a strategic plan and program design for a new department within the organization.
Judy spent last summer with The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC), a national leader in helping developers finance and build affordable multi-family housing. She worked on project management on various key initiatives.
Allie spent her summer with Runa LLC, a a privately held organic Amazonian beverage company following fair trade principles. She was responsible for designing marketing campaigns and executing marketing programs.
Jennifer spent last summer with the Harlem Children’s Zone as an intern with their after-school programs. She was responsible for aligning their after-school program with day school instruction and rolling out a new evaluation system for non charter school positions.
Larry spent last summer with the Calvert Social Investment Foundation, a $200 million fund that provides socially-oriented financial intermediaries (e.g., MFIs, CDFIs) with crucial access to capital. His focus last summer was to explore how the organization can expand its international loan portfolio to fund new and innovative lending models.
Craig spent last summer with the Collaborative Fund. He was responsible for helping to source new investments and developing the “state of collaborative consumption”.
Rosie spent last summer in Brazil with NAMI Rede Feminista de Arte Urbana, a Brazil-based NGO that uses urban art to promote awareness about women’s issues. She worked directly with the founder on key projects to promote gender equality.
