“Thank you,” Guanying said with a small smile, accepting the stick and tucking it into her hair. “It’s just..it was my mother’s and…it’s honestly the last thing of hers I have so…” 

With a small shrug, she held a hand out to the raven. “Would he mind if I pet him?” she asked softly. 

“oh, i am sorry.” tove rocked back on her heels, patting at her pockets and breast band as if the hair pin would magically appear in her possession. based on how pretty the girl was, tove doubted any of the rocks or twigs she had picked up would be owned by her. “i can have some friends look for it- what did it look like?” munin cawed on her shoulder, preening through tove’s hair and snapping up a beetle that rested behind her ear. “and yes, his name is munin and he is my best friend.” again the raven cawed loudly, chest puffing out in obvious pride. she held her arm out and munin hopped to perch on her wrist as she approached the pretty girl.

“I lost my favorite hairpin, could you help me find it?” Guanying gave the other person a pleading look. The hairpin in question had been her mother’s before she’d died, and if it was lost for good, she’d be absolutely heartbroken. 

          “i have not seen any hair pins- but you can use one of mine if you would like.” her head tilted to the right and the raven, munin, landed on her shoulder. the raven cawed loudly in tove’s ear and she tilted her head towards him with a little hum. munin knocked his beak against her head and plucked out the twisted stick that was keeping her greasy hair out of her face. “here,” the stick dropped in her hand and she offered it to the pretty girl. 

“Thank you,” Guanying said with a small smile, accepting the stick and tucking it into her hair. “It’s just..it was my mother’s and...it’s honestly the last thing of hers I have so...” 

magnus looks to the woman, an air of helplessness about her. usually those types of people and magnus do not bond well, since his natural aura is anything but friendly. but still, such a question does not have to be disregarded, not when opportunity can be taken for it. “a valuable hairpin?” he smirks, turning to give more of his attention. “i’m a valuable man. my time can be bought, should you want the help.”
