guess what: I have an AU where Jayce is Death. literally. and this AU also has the Horsemen and the Paths vibes from HSR.
imagine a well-fed and hairy amoral-Jayce, who periodically experiences bloodthirsty bouts and k*lls everyone like a maniac. but he wasn't always like this!!!
Jayce was born in the newly built Piltover and found a rune...literally in the trash, while looking for something to eat with Viktor. most likely, someone threw it away thinking it was a trinket. during one of these _outings_, Jayce and Viktor were taken by the followers of the Black Rose to Noxus. there, they grew up and were raised as future heirs of power. along with them was Mel, who would later become Hunger. they all became very close friends, and Jayce secretly learned blood magic himself, as he didn't really know how to use the rune without artifacts (he would later create a hammer for himself because he had seen it in other universes).
on the day before Jayce inherited the power, Death whispered to him that she needed Jayce to get rid of everyone he cared about, or they wouldn't be able to work together! however, Jayce was no fool and had a similar personality to young Talis, so he was unable to truly kill anyone. he just cast a spell of oblivion on himself, Viktor and Mel
Death was very pleased with his antics and settled in him, often protecting him from serious scrapes. if Jayce remains conscious and is badly hurt, Death takes control of the body and starts k*lling everyone in sight until she gets her fill and runs out of steam. well, as soon as Jayce got power, he managed to go crazy, go back to Piltover and k*ll everyone in a row, until Death reminded him of the banal generally accepted laws of the universe...
therefore, Jayce can only be killed in his sleep and at the same time it is necessary to immediately ensnare Death in a special magical cage-trap... so only a very experienced magician can subjugate Death! and that for a time!
simultaneously, having entered Jayce, she made Viktor her follower, turning partially ... into a vulture. originally, he was supposed to heal people and be a Comforter
btw, Death is mute and has a sister named Destruction. and their aunt is the Peace/Life, but I'll get to that later...
