“What exactly are you doing in Zaun?” Viktor asks, frowning at Marcus. “You’ve been visiting them often since before you became the Sheriff, near weekly at points. Your most common place to visit is The Last Drop, a bar in the Lanes that’s known to be owned by Silco, the ‘industrialist’. Now, what exactly do you have to say for yourself? I’d love to hear your explanation.”
“I… I heard you signed a prisoner’s release. The Kiramman girl is looking after her as we speak.” Marcus struggled to hide his smile, he knew that he would catch Viktor in a lie now and maybe, they would be on more even footing. He was being watched but he could still get a foothold of some kind.
“Of course, Caitlyn is the one who oversaw her release after all. Now, could I have the files on the prisoner? I trust Caitlyn’s judgement, of course, but I wish to know what exactly has happened to land the poor thing in jail myself. Would the papers be able to be delivered by the end of the day?” Viktor’s voice is firm and even if Marcus knows his signature must be forged, he could almost be tricked by his certainty.
“Of… Of course.”

Personally, I don't think y'all have talked enough about how Silco was is Marcus's house, playing with his daughter. Let me say that again: Silco, a man who makes his living off being intimidating and powerful, got let into the sheriff of Piltover's house by his young daughter, who if Marcus had any sense, would have warned her about strangers. And Silco got her to let him in. He *played* with her, for at least 10 or 15 minutes before Marcus came home, and she was totally happy and at her ease with him and the similarly offputting people he brought with him. She didn't feel in the least bit of danger until he wanted her to.
