"I remember that I am here not because of the path that lies before me, but because of the path that lies behind me!"
--Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), The Matrix Reloaded
 "Through these fields of destruction,
Baptisms of fire...
You did not desert me,
My brothers in arms."
--Dire Straits, "Brothers In Arms"
 "Well, I won't back down...
No, I won't back down...
You could stand me up at the gates of Hell
But I won't back down..."
--Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, "I Won't Back Down"
Nineteen years ago today, on November 29th, 1995, I underwent my final session of chemotherapy treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
It goes without saying that I feel extremely blessed and grateful to still be alive & cancer-free 19 years after ending treatment. More than that, however, I feel blessed and grateful for that without which I couldn't have gotten through treatment, or faced all the other challenges in my life since then--Namely, the love and support I've gotten from family members and friends.
Whether you are a family member or old friend who was there by my side as I went through treatment all those years ago, or are a new friend who has had my back as I searched for and finally got a new job: From the bottom of my heart, Thank You! Here's to at least 19 years more!
