He is dependent in some way on how society sees him in ronpa, and his instability in persona and life goes well with the princess mechanics- he's going to change depending on how he thinks the long quiet sees him. Yes, the fact that the Narrator embodies denial, while Komaeda is sort of anathema to denial (especially Hinata’s ability to keep denying things), is a huge reason why I’d envisioned him as the Princess! And Komaeda’s the one who’s constantly shifting around and revealing new contradictory facets of a complex self, while Kamukura is static and stable in a way. So I love the attention to that! And the idea of merging it with a “swap” AU where Kamukura gets to be the chained Creature, since that’s sort of his role in much of DR, while Komaeda “journeys” to wake him up…
