A tiny update… somehow the Twenty One Pilots movie has more security than AMAZON PRIME VIDEO. Before the stream started, someone very smartly pointed out there might be a screen share blocker. So I did some research, and as a test, I screen shared an episode of something to another one of my friends after turning off “hardware acceleration”. Which worked! For Amazon Prime Video. Surely the TOP website wouldn’t have higher security than them. They did. The streaming failed (everyone thank James covering for me). So now I have access to the video file, and I tried three different video downloaders (none of which worked). The fourth one I tried, dug up a bunch of M4S files. Which I tried turning them into MP4 files (which didn’t work). So. Later when I’m at my computer, I will try to research further how to get this movie to y’all on YouTube. Thanks for your patience!

So true about the Lonely and the End but the Hunt has always been my thought for Clancy. Maybe not completely but definitely there, you know? Specifically in the Trench era where we see how desperately Clancy tries to escape Dema, tries to escape Nico, tries to escape the darkness but they can't get away from it, it always following them, always hunting them. He's chased and caught, and then he escapes again but he's not safe, he knows that the Bishops won't stop coming for him. And he's right because Nico captures him again. He probably had bad paranoia when he was at the Bandito camp, free from the Lonely and End but a different fear was still feeding on him, every moment filled with the knowledge that Nico wasn't going to give up trying to get him, whether he'd come get them himself or not; Clancy was being hunted down until they were dragged back to Dema again.
And the music has a big theme of running away from the darkeness, your fears, the things trying to get you throughout all the albums, essentially describing being prey. Until the turning point where Clancy gets the seizing powers, it flips the switch instead of running away, he runs towards it. He's so desperate to escape that he becomes the predator and goes to hunt down Nico and the Bishops. They lose sight of their original goal, creating a place where they didn't have run anymore. In the end he becomes the thing he was so scared of a predator, a Bishop, Nova. Now they're the one in control, now they're the one hunting the next Clancy, putting them through the same thing they were so desperate to escape, still running but instead of away now they chase.
I LOVE your take on this, I don’t know how I completely forgot about the hunt. So obviously my next step was to read every lyric and make a Venn diagram about which songs/ lyrics match which fear.
I think it really does depend on the era Clancy is in. Like they all have themes of the other, but there is definitely one main one. Like for The Hunt there’s Trench and Breach, while for The Lonely there’s Scaled and Icy and Clancy. And I think the fear that Blurryface has the strongest themes of is The End.
