who would you say has the most tragic backstory out of all of them? (or top 3) >:•}

Leadfoot and his crew have the truck with the highest horsepower. Roadkiller weighs almost 17 tons and packs 1,400 horsies, but it is still beat in most competitions by Slipstream’s Tsunami, which generates closer to 1,300 horsies. Tsunami is just a smaller truck with better acceleration, and Slipstream is an extremely good driver.

The cat with the most tragic backstory is definitely Roadrage. He was born in a Wendy’s dumpster and eventually all his siblings and mother were taken in by various people, but he was left behind. He just had that haunted expression. You know the way some crusty white cats are.

He grew up on the streets where he occasionally ran into members of Apex Clan when they came into the city to steal car parts. He always wanted to go with them, but there was a major problem standing in his way — he had a paralyzing fear of automobiles. The monster truck cats always laughed him off, so one day he forced himself to conquer this fear by running into the street.

He was hit by a car, of course, but miraculously lived. Ever since then he hasn’t been afraid of them at all, and he still has the tire marks from where he was run over.

ApexClan and TorqueClan, are they the only clans?

What are the roles in the clans besides the Star Racers/general racers? Are there leaders, deputies, and medicine cats? Or is the entire clan just one big team essentially, with only the Star Racers gaining the places of powers?

Do/will cats ever use their claws and teeth to fight? Or is that akin to someone hopping out of the car to attack you through your window for brake checking them?

1. There are 3 monster truck clans in the area—Torque Clan, Apex Clan, and Piston Clan. Apex Clan is by far the most confrontational, while Piston Clan mostly keeps to themselves and are a little farther away. There are also a few regular cat clans in the area. They are extremely intimidated by the Monster Truck Warriors.

2. Most of the traditional roles within the clans are gone, but the cats all learn the same essential things like hunting, medicine, and fighting (mostly in case they come across larger predators in the wild). There are leaders, but their main purpose is to arrange competitions and judge victories. These are usually chosen by popular vote, and tend to be cats who are well liked with charismatic personalities. Driftstar, the leader of Torque Clan, was chosen to be leader simply because he is very cool and chill. When the clans compete, he is there to ensure everybody plays fair. He and the other clan leader act as referees, in a sense.

As for Star Racers, the only real power they gain is reputation and responsibility. If you want to be a Star Racer, you must be willing to compete for the clan anytime at a moment’s notice. It can be hard work especially if your clan is frequently at odds with another.

3. There have definitely been instances of co-drivers jumping into enemy trucks to attack the other driver. This is generally against the rules in major competitions, but as long as it’s not a regulated, inter-clan competition, anything goes. Out of the trucks, cats will definitely beat each other up sometimes. It’s enrichment for them.

The clans are made up of cats who live and breath monster trucks. Kittens are raised to know the ins and outs of racing, truck maintenance, and even field medicine in case of accidents or injuries. Each clan functions in a way as a team, with multiple trucks competing for the clan as a whole, but there are still rivalries within the clans that keep each crew training to improve their speed and performance.

All trucks have a driver and a pit crew. The driver is naturally the face of the truck, though the truck itself is definitely the biggest icon. However, the driver gets the most recognition for winning races and will grow their own personal reputation. The pit crew consists usually of 2-3 other cats—mechanics, medics, and occasionally a co-driver for trucks that are capable of more complex tricks (because cats are small and can’t reach all the buttons & pedals in their own).

Most cats aspire to be drivers and dream of having a truck of their own, but many are content being in the crew. One crew member is often trained to take over for the driver in case of medical leaves or retirement.

There are usually 2-3 Star Racers per clan who will compete with other clans to settle disputes. Slipstream is the Star Racer of Torque Clan, and she has been undefeated since she first became a driver. Her only competition within the clan is Leadfoot, who has been trying to usurp her for years.

As long as resources are available to build or fix old trucks, any cat can build one and become a driver. That doesn’t necessarily mean they will compete or be good at it. Crankshaft, for example, always dreamed of being a driver but is nowhere near being a Star Racer, and doesn’t even have a full pit crew (it’s just Tailspin).

Torque Clan’s main rival is Apex Clan, which are skilled in their own right. They also have territory near one of the largest Scrapyards where they get their resources from, which is the main source of tension between them.

Not all cats in the clans aspire to drive or be on crews. Some are just normal, but still show up to rally for their racers. All cats, including the Star Racers, share in the responsibility of hunting for food and caring for kittens or sick and injured cats.

the Monster Truck Warriors first began long ago during the Great Destruction. the woods they used to roam were cleared to develop condos and strip malls, and the clan cats were forced to adapt to harsh city life, fighting for scraps of food and living in the shadow of the cruel twolegs.

but then a brave cat known as Rebarclaw led the clans to their salvation—the endless land of twisted metal known as the Scrapyard, where the bodies of the twoleg’s discarded monsters lie neglected. from their generations of a hardened life in the city, the cats learned not to fear monsters, and soon they learned to conquer them.

in the Scrapyards, the cats discovered their talents in raising these abandoned monsters from the dead. in a way, they saw themselves in the metal beasts—left to wither and rust away by the twolegs. so they made them their own, and they mimicked the way twolegs controlled them to travel, but they also discovered they could be used in battle as well.

many generations passed and the Monster Truck Warriors no longer fight claw-to-claw. no, they now settle disputes with races and competitions in their monster trucks. though it is still a dangerous road, no blood needs to be shed for the clans to maintain peace and order.

the speed and safety of the monsters gave the clans the freedom to leave the cities far behind, and now they roam the empty fields and farmlands far outside the cities they came from. they only return to steal fuel and mechanical parts under the cover of darkness—a perfect crime, since the last thing twolegs would suspect is truck-driving cats.
