I'm nonbinary and I dress like this, and thus she must also be. That's how that works I think. (Plus frankly all the Risk of Rain survivors, with the exception of the ones who are just very masculine or feminine, could easily be any gender.)

Railgunner for me (as a nonbinary person) is a nice nonbinary representation, just like Sniper from the first risk of rain is also a neat they/them (I know they could be referring to Sniper + their drone when it's written "they left" in the end of the game, but I like to believe that Sniper's identity is a mystery and they have [redacted] as their gender on their admission papers).

[Imp Log: Whenever we can observe him unnoticed, he stands in the open, transfixed by the moon. I find small humour in that.]
