Its also? Just kind of lazy. Like, in something like a preschool show, i can see it being a way to show kids that a character has turned evil, but why is blue the good colour? Why not yellow? Or even green! Green makes more sense with the childish(not an insult in the context) logic. Green is good, and red is evil. Thats like, a known thing.

But with older kid cartoons or teen targetted media? Stuff like earthspark or skybound? It doesnt make sense to have that as a theme. The target audience is old enough to rely on other context clues that “character is good now cause their eyes are blue”. Its just a poor excuse for bad writing.

Im not against blue eyes starscream(even though i personally hate the visual of it, im more of an orange or yellow fan myself) but i AM against “blue eyes means good” because of its strange racist undertones. And yes, it IS that deep.
