WITH FISTS, KICKS AND BITES

     He looked at him looking at her looking at him. Suspicion edged into his cool facade, and Oser pointed between the two as he sifted close to Thanos. This was how it ended, wasn’t it—starman hiding a snuffed coffee patron in the cupboard and lady bird pecking them all the way to the jailhouse. He quaked in his ankle boots.      ”Oser, Miss Hattie,” he added for her, after some delay. With a genuine smile, he continued, “And hardly, Thanos. Just ‘appened to meet her the other day. Good company she’s go’, although—”      A nervous tic motion. Couldn’t have been too troublesome, this scenario, but he busied himself with drumming up reasons as to why their home had become a crime scene: space invaders; cat theft; stolen hearts. “Might call the lot outside a bit… excessive. What’s that all about?”

As he sat there, Thanos kept on observing them for a moment more, thinking that it was better to not interrupt now that he had gotten an explanation and just let Oser do the talking this time around. He was sure he would give the same alibis as they were true and so he relaxed in his seat but soon something caught his attention and he was quick to look at Hatie. "Did I..." He started at first, hesitating sightly as he was afraid of making a fool of himself. "I mean, did I tell you my name? I don't really remember so-" he muttered, brows slightly frowned in confusion. Maybe he had though and this was just his memory playing stupid tricks on him once more. After all sometimes he did forget stuff that was more recent, all due to secondary effects of having caused self inflicted amnesia. However that couldn't be it... If he had presented himself he would have given the name Athanasius instead of Thanos. Maybe she knew him already from before....

     Routine would have him strut in, brows waggling with a life of their own, and go, “Hello, lad!” to greet the starman. Only after the bags of goods were set did he notice the officer in the kitchen. And he was awfully close to Thanos now. Nearly cheek to cheek with a forward lean, Oser halted rather abruptly, facing Hattie as if caught in the act—which, given her title, wasn’t entirely out of the question.      His eyes glinted with recognition. His smile was, perhaps, over-eager, yet such was his nature in the presence of another. “Nice seein’ you again, Miss Hattie!” ‘Aving trouble with this one?”      Thanos was quick to fluster; even company couldn’t tame the quips of the bushy beast. But he brushed his hand against the other’s before he carried on, placing the food away.

  ”Yeah, sort of a house mate." he says, rubbing at the back of his neck as he took a look at Alpha who had just yawned and huffed, slightly shifting in position. "He is out doing groceries but yeah he was out with me last night…" he paused for a moment, humming as he thought. "We were back around midnight.”

"Ok, and between the hours of midnight when you returned home, and when you woke up this morning, did you hear or notice anything out of the ordinary?"

" Not really." he shaked his head and then crossed his arms, trying to not let his thoughts run loose. He had been doing something else instead that made him sleep like a rock.

”Yeah, sort of a house mate." he says, rubbing at the back of his neck as he took a look at Alpha who had just yawned and huffed, slightly shifting in position. "He is out doing groceries but yeah he was out with me last night..." he paused for a moment, humming as he thought. "We were back around midnight."

"If you say so." he muttered, not wanting to press the matter then and this said he just went to the kitchen to get a chair for himself. He could have woken up Alpha but that would bring more confusion than peace so he just let her be and took a seat in front of the couch instead. "Well.." he then started "There's another person living in the house actually but he is not currently in...."
