It's like if MHA fans called their series hetbait because it didn't change to focusing almost entirely on Deku and Ochako's relationship from 3/4ths through season 2 and instead stayed as the shounen it promised it was.

Subtext is stuff you have to read into, subtext isn't ever the explicit goddamn text. Uika's feelings for Sakiko are text, we get it shoved in our faces through her words and actions and lyrics so many times. Subtext is stuff like the MyGO E7 Saki call to Uika being interpretable as similar to a call to reconnect with an old fling/a booty call to get over the sting of a breakup, or the UiSaki backshots scene on the boat in AveMu ep12 being interpretable as an allusion to sex as well. Calling stuff like Uika's lyrics where she goes "I want you" subtext or by extension bait make me want to break your hands so I never have to see your worthless takes again
