if starlingpaw wanted to “overthrow” hawkwings leadership, literal or not, i think he would definitely try his hardest if he thought it was in his clans best interest

he already has quiet a following, including one of the medicine cats. if he really didn’t think that hawkwing was helping his clan, he could go the easy way and try and depose him using the vote or do something more violent if it really came to that

obviously he isn’t afraid to challenge authority figures, so he might question him before he even tries anything to be sure

i skimmed through chasing shadows and ill need to re read it again so my opinion on this might change
