It’s okay if your system functions by regularly losing members! While it may be sometimes sad, painful, or disheartening to lose headmates, please know that doing so does not call into question the validity of your system in any way. And remember, for many headmates who have left your system for various reasons, they very well may not be gone forever! Fused headmates are still with you, imagined headmates may return with a spark of creativity, dormant headmates may resurface, and gateway visitors may walk-in once more in your future!
If your system often loses members, remember that it’s okay to grieve and mourn the loss of headmates in healthy ways that feel natural for your system. Even if it happens quite regularly, your feelings and the feelings of your headmates are valid and deserve to be processed rather than buried and cast aside!
