What I think: Starship/Mnet is deliberately cutting things out and airing certain things to create entertainment value. They wanna create drama to make the show interesting and suspenseful. They design the episodes in such a way that you will have no problem understanding if you watch the show at face value. However, once you know or see certain things, you might be confused. I also have absolutely no problems with starship's way of doing things.  What I know: The following points are indeed factual. The concert where I.M. and Kwangji performed at was on 5th December 2014. It was briefly aired a month later during episode 5. Kwangji/Yoosu just got eliminated and they didn't get airtime although they were there. (Not sure about Yoosu but Kwangji was really present.) Mnet aired some clips of the seniors but cut out nuboyz performance and aired a clip where Gun said he wants to join starship family. Nuboyz were part of the official lineup at a Starship X concert which means they got a chance to feel like part of the family. Obviously, none of this was aired cos it does not match with No Mercy's direction.

In episode 7, they aired clips of the trainees walking around Hongdae and Myungdong. The real date was 28th December 2014. Minkyun was not eliminated yet. The 4th mission happened on 15th January 2015. In episode 8, I.M joined the program in order to participate in the 4th mission. When the trainees talked about how unhappy they felt about I.M's addition, Kihyun mentioned that Minkyun was eliminated 'yesterday'. We can assume that this date is supposed to be anywhere between 28 December - 15 January.  Based on the things the trainees said, some were careful enough to use words like 'new friend' while some hinted that this is not the first time they met I.M. But Mnet mentioned in the captions that 'This is the first time they met'.  Moving back to 5th December, Shownu performed with him and the rest of them saw him there. They definitely did not meet for the first time. TLDR; Mnet said they met for the first time although that's not really true.
