Where’d my mind go

Here are the some of the alternatives I know of based on popular recommendations :

Ecosia - I use this one and it’s not bad, it’s based on the same engine as google but it plants a tree for your searches and you can turn off the ai shit (though it is questionable why they have ai on it despite being a pro environment company, they said they have it to try and drive more users to their platform, I guess the people who like the overview (but I suppose it could be considered harm reduction since their model is less resource intensive (my source, the ecosia website))

DuckDuckGo- I’ve heard good things about this one, it’s basically bing on the backend with a more private footprint

Firefox- I honestly don’t know much about Firefox but I know people who use it and again you can turn off the ai and the search engine doesn’t seem to be half bad

Brave- another privacy focused one, heard there was some controversy a while back with them and crypto so I’d say look into it for yourself.
