"I [Simon Doonan, former creative director of Barneys, New York and current creative ambassador] came to Barneys in 1985, back when there was just one store, the original location down on Seventh Avenue and 17th Street. […] My celebrity caricature Holiday Windows are the Guernica/Sistine Chapel of my work at Barneys. [...] A series of Coney Island-style sideshows, these windows satirized the foibles and grandiosity of celebrity, much to the delight of the crowds and media.
