Duelist of the Stars

       ”I don’t like Winter.” grumbly princess was grumbly. "It’s too cooold." But she offered a smile to her beloved  boyfriend, brown eyes shining some. “Imma make some hot cocoa and a stew for dinner.”

"Alright, you get it started and I'll see what I can do with this lousy thing." Yusei wasn't entirely pleased that the thermostat decided to blow out, considering he'd just expected to stay at home with Judai for the day, but whatever. He had a bit of trouble finding out exactly what caused it, but after some more investigation he determined it was some faulty wiring. Great, he'd probably have to go to the closet to grab his wire kit for this one.

   ”Mmmn!” Sudden warmth had the little princess calm  some, a soft smile over-taking grumpy features, “Ah…? But it should be one we both enjoy!” she protested, already she felt better with him nearby. 

"Hey, Judai, you know I don't really have a preference with movies. I'm just happy to spend time with you, you know?" Yusei couldn't help but smile at her, happy that she'd at least seemed a bit more energetic. She wouldn't have protested like that if she was depressed, that's for sure. Hopefully a movie would get her mind off the cold, it was getting to everybody these days.

     ”Tch! Yusei, I think our heater’s broken.”  Why else would it seem to be permanently  stuck on maybe twenty degrees in the house.

"What? Crap, this old place has a new problem every week, jeez. I'll take a look at it, don't worry. If it's busted, I'll fix it right up." Now that Judai had mentioned it, it had seemed a bit colder inside, although it had been more gradual, so Yusei hadn't noticed until now. Well, time to see what the problem was, huh?

     ”…Wake me when it’s spring.” She’s not having any of this bury my house in twenty feet of snow  bullcrap.

"C'mon princess, I'll let you pick it out too."

       ”You’ve proven not just to me and the other Signers,  but to the entire dueling world that you a very capable man who finishes everything you set out to do. I cannot think of  anybody else who even comes close to being worthy of my  card.” he stated quietly.       “All I ask, is do not allow this card to be stolen by anybody. I might get… cross. I also don’t want anybody else to ever use my card. It is yours and yours alone.”

"Of course, you know I can keep this one safe. I...I don't entirely know if I'm good enough to use this one, but I'll do my best with it. You know I will. But seriously...thank you. This means more than anything I've done as a Signer in the past. I'll make sure to use it the best I can." "I know at least two people I'll use this to keep safe. I'm sure you know them well too."

     His hand glowed if only for a brief second before a card showed up in his hand, s silvery coloured card that gleamed with power, a  synchro monster without a level. “Ultimaya Tzolkin." he stated calmly. "Please take care of me won’t you, dear?"

"A-are you sure I can have this?!"

      “How rude! I was gonna give you a new card! But if you don’t want it fine!”

"Well I'm sorry, usually your 'presents' are pranks. How would I know it'd be any different? But anyway yeah, what is it?"

     ”Yuseeeei? I have a present for you.”

"Hnn? What is it? Please tell me it's not a prank."

        “How rude! But no… That really was an example of unfortunate  events. In her time she should be protected by Osiris and Ra. But  for some reason she wasn’t so I took her away.”       A sigh passed from parted lips. “I did not have anything to do  with what happened to her past loves, nor was I able to interfer and  save her. She is not a signer, she is not one of my children, nor does she belong to my patheon. Out of my control. In this time however I am able to watch over and protect her.”

"I...I'm sorry about that. I'm just worried about her, is all. She's been through a lot, and I want to keep her safe from now on." Yusei crossed his arms on a railing nearby, looking into the void at nothing in particular. "Can you make me a promise? Can you please keep an eye over us and keep our family safe, to the best you can do? I'd really be grateful if you could, but if you're too busy well...I understand."

     ”That’s great. I’d hoped bringing her here would have this effect on you. You’re usually too busy for the rest of your friends and they’ve been asking what they can do to brighten you life — since she was alone too, I figured why not throw you guys a hand?”        A hearty laugh from the dragon as he smiled. “I know I don’t have to say this to you of all people, but take care of her, yeah?”

Yusei took a second to realize what the Crimson Dragon had said to him, but then he realized there might have been a bit of a problem in Judai's past that he may have been responsible for. "Okay, but I have something important to ask. Were you somehow involved in what happened to her in the past? If not, that's okay, but I just have to know. And...of course I'll take care of her...she means so much to me now."

        “If you weren’t expected it, why would I expect such? Seriously as the leader that was a foolish thing to say. Unless it was just commentary.” he mused, hands in his pockets now.       “By the way… I sense something new about you. Did something good happen recently, hmmm?~”

"Uh...Yeah, actually. I...fell in love, I guess you could say. We're planning on raising a family together. And no, I haven't told the rest of the Signers yet, Judai's kind of a secret. Oh yeah, you remember Judai, right? Back when the time travel things happened? It's...it's her." Yusei smiled and couldn't help but blush, even thinking of his new lover. She seriously meant the world to him, and he was sure the Dragon God in front of him must have picked it up a lot sooner.

      “He needs to calm down. If anybody was to control me, I’d hand my card and being to you. But no danger’s been truly dire enough for me to force my hand in such a senseless way. Oh that . I’m pretty sure Stardust and Blackrose ate it and good riddance. Now do me a  huuuge favour hm? If that thing ever approaches, call for me so I can roast it alive”

"Yeah, will do. And yeah...he can seriously be a handful sometimes, but he's a good kid. He's got some major potential as a Duelist to boot, and I'm really proud of how much he's grown with us." Yusei yawned, realizing just how much weirdness he'd seen tonight, definitely enough for at least a month. "I gotta say, wasn't expecting tonight to be so eventful, huh? Really weird seeing all this action."

     ”Hoping this is just a lotta crap, but some lady  claims to be a witch who has the great Crimson  Dragon as her pet! You’re closest to him what do you know if anything about this? How worried should we all be? Is it a new threat?”

"Lua, I'm sure it's just a false alarm. Probably another escapee from the insane section of the Facility. No need to worry about it, and besides, if it turns out to be a problem, I'll find a way to deal with it. You know me, I always find a way to pull it off in the end." Yusei ruffled Lua's hair a little, giving him a genuine smile for once, just to try and calm him down. It was definitely just another crazy person running around.

      “Hey guys! Can I declare like a Signer’s meeting? Now? I think there’s something we gotta discuss!”

"Yo Lua, what is it? This better not be some false alarm again." Yusei walked over to the boy, wondering just what had gotten him all riled up, for once.
