Tolly is Starbound

The house was a complete success, if you could even call it a house. Maybe an apartment? So far, it is a one room building with a small loft in the attic. There isn't much to it just yet, but it's a start. I need to build more onto it, as there's no room for storage, or anything else yet. But it's homey, for the most part.

I started work on the foundation of what will become my new home. It's not much, but anything worth doing takes a bit of, well, work. So I'm still living the dream life of camping under the stars. Which is mostly just cold and damp, but you can't ever completely shut out Earthian-cliches. 

Back up in my ship, digging through the refuse gained through mindless days of travel, I hear the chirping and buzzing sound of far off static. Though, after opening the door into the cockpit- heh- I realized it wasn't some weird alien bug stuck in the vents, but a com-message!

I know there are other star-stuck people out there, but I wasn't actually expecting to come across any of them. At least, not without doing anything myself.

The message was crackling and weak, and I am almost certain there are parts missing.

Humans! Well, when you think about it, of course. I wasn't the only person to escape Earth's end, but still. It's very fortunate. My first call from another advanced life-form, well, starship advanced, and it's a human. I'm so lucky!

I'm not sure where, exactly, the transmission came from, but I can try sending one of my own back in that direction. But what to say...

Bppt, bppt. Is this thing even on? Crap, maybe if I turn up the vol-oh! Ahem. This is Captain Tolly Oats of the good ship Ouroboros, responding to a Captain Garry. I am a survivor of the Earth's End, currently anchored down in the Alpha sector, currently setting up a base of operations. Life sustainable. Do you require assistance? Transmission End.

I crafted myself a bow to aid myself in finding food. You can't survive on plants alone, especially when you run out of them. But with this bow, I can kill monsters cleanly enough to gather meats and skin from their bodies. While my aim isn't the best, I am sure that I will become more competent in time.

While exploring Alpha Iota Per, I came across an altar, most likely to Kluex, since there were masked Avians calling me a heathen. I killed them quickly, and disposed of their bodies. 

I've set up a small camp near a cluster of trees. There isn't much here, but I've started clearing out some land to build a small house. Until I gather enough materials, construction cannot begin. I don't really know what I'm planning yet either, only that it will shelter me through the night. 

I've split my time between this encampment, my listless drifting spaceship, and Alpha Iota Per's surface gathering materials. I almost have enough materials to start the foundation. 

I'm stuck in orbit around the planet Alpha Iota Per 8757 I, a forest laden planet with green land and a black atmosphere. The water on the planet is a purple color, and the trees are red and blue leaved birch. Despite it's size in space, the planet itself seems rather small.

I have already done a cursory look over it's surface, and other than a few Kluex members and a confident Hylotl merchant, the planet is uninhabited. 

I wasn't on Earth when it happened, but I know it's gone now. I know I'll never see my once-home again, and I'm still trying to be okay with that. I know it's a bit easier for me than some, because I've been out in space for a long time now, and I've gotten use to the loneliness it brings me. But even still, I felt lost when I heard the news.
