i finally wrote and finished something (pt 1 at least ) for once. someone clap for me (please) that being said, i havenāt forgotten my socmed au⦠thereās been complications along the way both with the au itself and just life stuff but it will be continued i promise.
Pairing: Tutor! Kim Seungmin x College Student! FemReader (ft skz, itzy)
Genres: college! au, stem major reader, humor, fluff, so many oblivious ppl in this one...
Summary: Calculus II. Your newfound enemy. Jeongin's solution? Get tutoring from his friend Seungmin.
Author's Note: i've had this in my drafts for so long... it wasn't until my friend held me at gunpoint that i locked in to finish this. even then it was getting longer than planned so i will be splitting into 2 parts lol. i hope you all enjoy!! i usually write these in my google docs or phone notes before posting on here so i was having trouble formatting... kinda annoyed i'm not able to right align for the text convos. i would have done the text ss but i felt that the style of this suited in-text rather than adding photos. for that reason, i tried to differentiate it with bolding, italicizing, and also coloring so i hope it's not too hard to follow along with the messaging parts!! getting my own hex codes for coloring is so tedious... next time i might just use the default colors. if any of you have any tips please let me know! and lmk what you think of this :) i love hearing ppl's thoughts!! enjoy <3
STEM. Out of all the majors that were available, you had decided on being a STEM major. Which honestly was the only area that interested you and you could see yourself in. You were aware it wasnāt going to be easy, but you found some comfort in the understanding that came naturally in practically every math class you took. Except calculus.
Youāve never truly suffered until taking calculus. Pre-calculus and trigonometry was fine. It was bearable. Calculus I? You were surprised to make it by with a B. Calculus II started to make you consider dropping out and you were barely a month and a half into the class, having received your first exam of the semester back.
āA seventy! I just barely got a passing grade. Not to mention, most of the points I got were partial credit for showing my work.ā You kept staring at the score listed in red ink at the top of the exam. āI canāt say I didnāt expect it, but knowing I was so close to getting a D isnāt making me feel any better.ā Flipping through the pages only made the sinking feeling deepen as your eyes traced the markings that crossed out various lines of your work.
āTimes like these Iām so glad I donāt have to take calculus.ā Jeongin grinned, placing a hand to his heart.
āRight? How lucky are we?ā Felix agreed, but took one look at the sour expression you made and was quick to place his hand on top of yours while he let out a sigh. āBut how unlucky you are. You poor, poor thing.ā
You groaned, letting your exam fall onto the table. You propped your elbows up and placed your head on the palms of your hands. āI canāt afford to fail this class. I know it wonāt be the end of the world if I do, but I really want to get this over with the first time around.ā
āWhy not find a tutor?ā Felix suggested.
āI have been considering it.ā You frowned, āI donāt really want to, though. I think Iām just gonna tough it out and try to find other ways of getting these concepts down.ā
āCāmon, I know youāre capable of passing the class with good standing, but a little guidance doesnāt hurt.ā Felix stated, trying to nudge you to find a tutor.
āI think one of my friends took that class. I could ask if heād be willing to tutor you if youād like?ā Jeongin offered, already pulling out his phone.
You lifted your head and shook your head, āNo. I canāt.ā
āWhy not?ā Jeongin cocked his head slightly in question. āI know heād be more than happy to help. You met him before- Seungmin, remember?ā
A head of dark hair with blond highlights adorning bangs and a flash of braces lining across teeth popped into your head at the name. You do remember him, having met him when you attended a performance of Jeonginās one night.
Jeongin had gotten the lead in the musical the previous semester and you had gone to show your support. He did wonderfully and solidified his destined spot on stage. You showered him with praise the second you met up with him and handed him a bouquet of flowers you had gotten before the show, to which he blushed and covered his flustered expression by hiding behind the bouquet.
āJeongin,ā a voice called behind you. You had whipped your head around at the sound and found yourself tilting your head up slightly to see the face of who had spoken. Soft and bright face, beaming at the sight of the dimpled performer hiding behind the flowers. His dark hair tousled nicely with his blond highlights resting on his forehead. He was holding a bouquet of flowers as well. āPardon me,ā he said to you as he took a step to stand beside you and outstretched his hand holding the bouquet out to Jeongin.
āSeungmin, you made it!ā Jeongin was smiling from ear to ear. āI thought you had a project you had to finish?ā
āI finished early so I could come see you on opening night,ā Seungmin grinned as Jeongin accepted the bouquet. āYou did amazing, just like I knew you would.ā
Jeongin, now holding two bunches of flowers as his dimples deepened, let out a joyful laugh and brought the flowers back up to cover his bashful expression. āThank you, but please stop before I pass out.ā
You and Seungmin had laughed at that, stealing a glance at each other before turning both of your guysā attention back to the flustered Jeongin before you.
You all chatted for a while before Jeongin was called over by some cast members who were going to take photos to commemorate that night. You bid farewell to Jeongin, giving him a quick hug and waved at Seungmin. By then only a few people lingered in the halls so the only other sound aside from the chatter and your jingling car keys that swung from your fingertips were footsteps gradually nearing you before a voice called out your name.
āIāll walk you to your car if youād like,ā Seungmin offered. It was pitch black out and by this hour the campus was fairly deserted.
āAre you headed out, too?ā You asked, slowing your pace before coming to a complete stop.
He shook his head, āIām waiting for Jeongin to be done. But, itās pretty dark out and they still havenāt fixed some of the lampposts.ā
āYouād think with how much we pay in tuition theyād immediately fix these things,ā you joked.
There was various lampposts across campus that havenāt been working for a while, whether it simply needs a lightbulb change or some wiring fixed, itās been almost a month at that point. Maybe two.
āYeah, itās gotten to the point where I FaceTime my friend anytime heās leaving campus late,ā he explains as he begins to laugh, almost like he remembered a joke someone told him. āHeās a bit of a scaredy cat, but I feel that itās pretty valid under these conditions.ā
You hummed, a smile playing on your lips. āAh, so youāre extending your friend services to me. How touching.ā
He nodded and smiled in a way that showcased his braces, clear brackets being visible to you considering you were less than a foot away from him. āYou get the in-person experience. Free of charge.ā
āWell, only because itās free, but itād be a little rude if you charged me after offering.ā
He made small talk on the way to your car, asking what you thought of the show. Soon the conversation steered towards your friendship with Jeongin and how it came to be. Needless to say, Seungmin was quite surprised.
āStranger danger much?ā His voice had a playful tilt to it.
āHey, he had a puffle named Peter! And he sometimes had the Club Penguin membership!ā You could make out a few of Seungminās features out in the dark. His eyebrows furrowed at your words as he awaited your response to his silent question. āItās one of those things you had only when your parents said yes. They were the ones paying at the end of the day so really, no kidās parent is paying back to back membership for a game.ā
He thought for a moment, "what if the weirdos of the Internet knew and used that strategy?"
"No, okay. There was a low chance that would happen," you argued. "Those sorta people think having the membership year-round is what will make them popular. Honestly though? Kids at that age are mostly jealous and unlikely to talk to them out of spite." You thought for a quick moment. "Or maybe that was just me," you muttered under your breath.
āOkay then what if they were actually kids? What if their parents were rich?ā He countered.
āI donāt think any rich kid is playing club penguin.ā
He seemed satisfied with that answer, lips upturned at the corners as he stifled his laughter.
The walk to and across the parking lot seemed a lot shorter at the time, reaching your car in what felt like only a minute when in reality it was at least seven. Possibly even twelve minutes with how slow you two were walking.
āWell, thanks for walking me to my car,ā you had reached the driverās door, your hand resting on the handle as you lingered outside for just a little while longer. āI can drop you back off near the entrance if youād like?ā
āItās okay,ā he politely declined, āI just planned to head there in my car and wait for Jeongin outside. Thank you, though.ā
You unlocked your car, opening the door but not stepping inside yet. āOkay. Well, I appreciate you walking me out here.ā
āItās no problem. Get home safe,ā he smiled.
āYou, too.ā
Seungmin didnāt make a move to leave until you were already in your car with the door closed.
He was charming and sweet. Thatās all you had the chance to gather in that brief meeting, not having crossed paths with him again oddly enough despite Jeongin saying he was a close friend of his.
To be quite honest, the thought of wanting to see him again had appeared many times in your mind. But not like this. Where heād see you struggle through class material. No chance.
āDidnāt you say heās always busy?ā You argued, letting your hands lay on the table.
Jeongin hummed. āHe was, but his workload has lessened since last semester so he has more time these days.ā
āWell, I donāt exactly have the money to pay for a tutor. And if I really wanted one, I could always go to the free tutors on campus. It is their job after all,ā you had reached for your exam papers by then, beginning to adjust them despite them already being in a neat stack. And really- 4 sheets of paper couldnāt become that disorganized.
āSeungmin isnāt really the type to charge,ā Felix added. āPlus, heās a really good tutor! He helped me out with some of my econ homework.ā
āI donāt know,ā you answered, hands now splayed out on the sheets of paper.
āI already texted him to ask if heāll do it,ā Jeongin stated as he waved his phone around.
Your head whipped up to look at him. āDude, did you not just hear me say I donāt know?ā
āYeah, but I know you. Youāre too indecisive.ā
You looked at Felix only to see him immediately nod his head, āyou know that line in that one Justin Bieber song? With Sean Kingston?ā
You looked at Felix, deadpan expression as you blinked. Then blinked again.
āSheās indecisive, she canāt decide,ā he sang with his hand to ear, bobbing his head to the rhythm. āI think that line was inspired by you,ā he added with a smile.
You rolled your eyes, resisting the urge to sing along to the catchy tune.
āSheās not denying it,ā Jeonginās voice rose in pitch.
You narrowed your eyes at Jeongin, āI just think thereās no sense in arguing with you two.ā
āFunny way of saying weāre right,ā Jeongin muttered under his breath.
Felix moved from his spot across the table to where you were seated, pulling you into his side in a tight embrace. āAw, itās okay. We all have our own quirks.ā
āYouāre ridiculous,ā you accept his hug despite your words, leaning into him.
You can hear and feel the joy emanating from him as he shook with laughter.
āFelix, take his phone and unsend his message,ā you whispered to him, glancing in Jeonginās direction, āthereās still time.ā
Felix mouthed the word ānoā and squeezed you even tighter.
You huffed and let yourself collapse in his hold.
āDonāt be like that,ā Felix teased, rubbing his hand along your arm before letting go.
āWhy are you so adamant on denying help?ā Jeongin questioned.
āI appreciate the offer, I do,ā you thumbed at the corner of your papers. āBut I just needed to rant a bit thatās all. Iāll bounce back in no time.ā
āWe have no doubt that youāre capable of doing well. Youāve taken some of the most difficult courses offered, but a little help will lessen the stress,ā Jeongin said, glancing at his phone before placing it in his pocket and getting his things together. āI have to go. My class starts soon.ā
You reached your hand out, ādonāt leave. I still have things to complain about.ā
Jeongin, who messes with you to no end, still grabs your hand to give it a squeeze, āprof will kill me if I miss a lecture. We can talk later, okay?ā
You nod, letting your hand drop out of his grasp when he loosens it.
āMake sure she doesnāt have a breakdown,ā he says to Felix.
Felix salutes as a stoic expression grazes his face, āyes sir.ā
You scoff, āIām not gonna have a breakdown.ā
Jeongin simply shrugs and heads out before you can get another word in.
āNot on my watch you wonāt,ā Felix responds, once again leaning into your space.
Just like every other time, you have no heart to refuse so you lean your head against his and let out a sigh.
After having a study session with Felix, you head to your short shift at the campus bookstore. You worked part-time for extra cash, mostly restocking merchandise or working the register. At this point in the semester, thereās few people who actually come to the store so itās extremely slow. Your days are filled with completing small tasks and watching the clock tick by as a podcast plays in your left earbud.
Youāre messing with the registerās buttons when you notice someone walk into the shop out of the corner of your eye.
āWelcome in,ā you greeted as your eyes lifted to look at the customer, smile already etched on your face.
You feel your eyes widen a bit when you finally look at him. Of course itās him. Itās just like him to show up after however long it had been since the first and last time.
You thought his bangs would have grown out by then and heād have ditched the blond highlights. His hair seemed to be trimmed a bit shorter from what you remembered but his highlights were now a pretty pink amongst his dark hair.
His braces showed as he directed a smile towards you, āhey, I didnāt know you worked here.ā
āSeungmin,ā you tore your gaze away from his smile, but avoided his eyes, āyeah! I started this summer so Iāve only worked here a couple of months.ā
He was up at the register by then, the subtle smell of a soft and clean fragrance reaching your nose.
Did he smell like this before? Stop. Thatās weird. But why canāt I remember? Did I have a stuffy nose that day? Actually I think I had allergies then. That explains why.
āDo you get a good discount?ā He looked at you with a teasing glint in his eyes, messing with the keychains stocked near the register.
āItās not too bad. Definitely makes up for the minimum wage pay,ā you fiddle with the edge of the counter as you prepare your own question. āWhat brings you here? Donāt tell me youāre just now getting your textbooks.ā
He shook his head, āno. I always order mine as soon as I have the list. I just came to get something for my friend before the shop closes for the day.ā He explained, letting go off the keychains while he scanned the shop. āWhere do you guys keep your clay kits?ā
āAh,ā you turn around, grabbing one of the few kits you had left and held it up, āwe keep them behind the counter. Is that all you need?ā You placed the small box on the counter, already inputing your student number and passcode into the registerās login screen.
āActually,ā he paused causing you to look up from the screen. āJeongin texted me today. Something about you wanting some tutoring?ā
Yang Jeongin, when I get my hands on you.
āOh. That.ā You let out a small laugh, hoping it didnāt come out too forced. āI told him I was fine. Calculus II is just⦠stressful. Thatās all.ā
āYeah, I hated that class,ā he admitted. āBut really. If you want any help or even just my notes, Iām here. I donāt mind helping you out.ā He handed you his student ID to input for the purchase.
He mustāve come in person often. The ID wasnāt needed for the purchase, but some students typically liked to rack up loyalty points when making purchases in-store. It also served as a way to receive an electronic receipt.
You typed in his number, looking at the picture on his student ID. There wasnāt a single dyed strand, the corner of his lips just barely upturned if you looked close enough. You noticed a small Pochacco sticker right below his ID number before handing it back over to him.
You contemplated your choices. Somehow the ticking of the clock seemed more daunting as you tried to come up with a response.
Jeongin and Felix are right. Iām too indecisive.
āI donāt know. I wouldnāt wanna take up your time,ā you grabbed the box, scanning the barcode.
āItās no problem at all,ā Seungmin smiled, continuing to look at you even as he pulled out his wallet and took his card out.
A fluttering feeling settled in your chest. You tried to ignore it as you pressed the checkout button on the screen, motioning to the card reader. Only the soft sound of the music playing and keys being tapped away by those on the other side of the store was heard.
āAre you sure?ā
āPositive,ā the card reader went off as his card hovered above the screen. He grabbed the stylus and quickly signed off on the pinpadās screen.
āWell, if it really isnāt a problem,ā you held your hand at the receipt printer, waiting for the purchase to finish processing, āIād appreciate your help.ā
āIāll text you my schedule so we can coordinate a time to meet up then,ā he answered.
You grabbed the receipt as soon as it printed as well as a small, blue colored cardstock paper that listed the shopās return policy. You stapled the two together placing it on top of the box.
It was only then that what he said had registered in your mind.
āIāll give you my number,ā you said, grabbing a pen from the cup next to the card reader.
You could feel his gaze on you as you scribbled down your number alongside the return policy, almost writing a seven instead of a two at some point. Once finished, you place the pen back in the cup. You grabbed the box and small pieces of stapled paper, holding it out for him.
āWait, I forgot to ask- did you want a bag for this?ā You quickly blurted out, but he was already grabbing a hold of it, hand brushing yours as he gently pulled it out of your grasp.
āItās okay. I donāt need one,ā he said as he pocketed the receipt and blue paper. āIāll text you, okay?ā
āOkay.ā
The rest of your shift seemed to end in the blink of an eye after that. The podcast playing was forgotten and you moved on autopilot as you completed the closing tasks.
It wasnāt long before you were at your apartment, recounting the events to your friends.
āWhy are you guys kinda giving āThe Fault In Our Starsā at the end?ā Yuna giggled as she teasingly bit her pointer finger.
Chaeryeong grimaced at her words.
Lia gasped, ādoesnāt one of them die at the end?ā
Yuna stopped giggling, pulling her hand away from her face. āWait. Seriously?ā
You hug a couch pillow to your chest, āguys, can we focus?ā
āRight, right. Sorry,ā Yuna apologized with a serious look on her face.
āIām nervous. What if he doesnāt text and I look stupid for giving him my number?ā You shove your face into the pillow. āOr worse. What if he does text and we meet up and he thinks Iām stupid and-ā
āWoah, woah, woah,ā Lia quickly interrupts you. āYouāre getting ahead of yourself. Like way ahead. Youāre in a whole other field right now.ā
āSorry,ā your voice is muffled by the pillow.
āDonāt apologize,ā Chaeryeong reassures you, ājust be rational. Donāt let your overthinking take over.ā
āYeah,ā Yuna chimed in, ādidnāt he say heād text you, like twice?ā
āMaybe. If I remember correctly,ā you mumbled.
āOf course you remember correctly,ā Lia confirms. āIām like ninety-nine percent sure you have every word youāve exchanged with him etched into your mind.ā
You shove your face back into the pillow, āI do.ā
āYou say that like itās a bad thing! I think itās cute!ā Yuna coos. āItās so endearing seeing you like this.ā
āIām losing my mind and you find it endearing?ā You ask, eyes narrowed as you look at her.
āYes,ā she says as she reaches over to cup your cheeks. āVery much so.ā
Suddenly your phone buzzes. Once. Twice. And finally a third time.
āTriple text?ā Chaeryeong asks aloud.
āHe wants you,ā Yuna adds.
āIt could literally be anything,ā you state. Your nerves kick in regardless of your words as you grab your phone from the coffee table. You unlock it to view the notifications. Three texts. From an unsaved number.
Maybe: Seungmin
Hey itās seungmin ! :)

Hereās my class and work schedule
Let me know what days and times work for you!
After almost a minute of staring at his messages, you find your voice again.
āOkay, so maybe it was him. But! He just shared his schedule with me and asked what times work. Thatās all,ā you clarified before any of them could say anything.
Yuna hummed while Lia tapped her chin.
āHe honestly could have sent everything in one text. He chose to text you three separate instances,ā Lia tapped the side of her head- a silent praise to herself for the conclusion she had come to.
Yuna nodded, āsheās right.ā
āYou guys canāt keep feeding my delusions like this,ā you groaned. āItās gonna go to my head.ā
āListen. Iāve come to recognize delusion from living with you guys, but this,ā Chaeryeong gestures to your phone, āis just how things are. You need to read this like it is. Itās not even in between the lines at this point. Guys are usually pretty obvious.ā
Yuna grabbed you by the shoulders, shaking you back and forth, āStop living in denial! Go for it!ā
āI still donāt understand how this is a sign to you guys,ā muttering under your breath as you skimmed through his schedule.
His classes and work shifts were color coordinated. He even added in his lunch breaks and downtime and seemed to have scribbled notes for you to indicate the days and time blocks he can meet for tutoring.
Damn. I should get him to organize my schedule.
You take note of what works and decide on meeting two days a week: Wednesday and Friday after work.
you
hi seungmin :)
wednesday and friday after 5:30 works !!
'āDid he respond yet?ā Yuna whispered as if anyone could overhear.
āI just replied,ā you stated with the text conversation still opened.
āWell, heās slacking because if it were me, I-ā Chaeryeong didnāt get the chance to finish her sentence before your phone buzzes.
You immediately glance down.
Maybe: Seungmin
Okay sounds good !!
So weāll meet this friday at 6 then?
āHe wants to meet this Friday,ā you say to no one in particular.
āWell, yes. Isnāt that how this works? You tell him a day and ti-ā
You shush Yuna, āI know. I know. Iām just. Processing.ā
āThe crush you thought youād never see again and now heās gonna tutor you!ā The other girls joined Lia in squealing and playfully shoving you.
āNot a crush,ā you said in a quiet, unsure tone.
you
yessss
thank you again seungmin!! :D
The response was immediate.
Maybe: Seungmin
Iām happy to be of help!!
Let me know if you need anything before then
See youuuu
You tried to bite back the smile as you read his messages.
āāNot a crushā my ass,ā Chaeryeong muttered.
Seungmin will be the death of me.
Friday rolled around before you even knew it. You didnāt have classes on those days, but worked a slightly longer shift. It was slow as always, but you had a bit of pep in your step even with the lingering nerves.
āYou seem to be in a good mood,ā Felix noted, a certain glint in his eyes.
Felix sometimes stopped by during your shifts just to chat. Neither your manager nor fellow coworkers had any issues with his presence since he was usually one of the few people actually coming in. He was also a complete sweetheart to everyone, greeting cheerfully and asking about their day.
āWhat? No,ā you quickly denied, ājust glad itās finally Friday.ā
āRight, right,ā he spun the tiny rack of stickers on the counter. āYou just seem really happy. Are you looking forward to your tutoring session?ā
You shrug as you continue fixing some of the folded apparel, āIām ecstatic about furthering my knowledge.ā
Felix has a knowing smile on his face and suddenly the glint in his eyes makes sense. Even so, you refuse to admit it to him.
āAnd here I thought you didnāt want Seungmin to tutor you.ā
āWell,ā you began, making sure to choose your words carefully, āI just didnāt want to force him into something he didnāt exactly volunteer for. Jeongin was the one who suggested him as a tutor.ā
Felix nodded, āthat is true.ā
You had an inner battle with yourself, contemplating if you should drop hints to Felix.
Drop hints. As if Felix canāt already tell. Heās been smug about this whole ordeal since Jeongin brought up my tutoring plans with Seungmin. He knows something, but I donāt know how. I canāt be that obvious⦠right?
You decided to confide in Felix. Sure, he loved teasing, but when it came to it, he was always straightforward.
āFelix,ā you called for his attention. āBe honest with me- am I that obvious?ā
āTo me? Yes,ā he nodded, wide smile with crinkles at the corner of his eyes. āTo Jeongin and Seungmin? Probably not. They just arenāt the type to catch on.ā
You patted the soft material of the hoodie you had folded before setting it off to the side to put out later. āIām just scared of looking stupid in front of him.ā
Felix frowned at that, dropping his hand from the stickers he was fiddling with. āYou arenāt stupid and you wonāt look stupid. Youāre one of the smartest people I know. And if youāre afraid of slipping up in other ways, I feel like youāre pretty subtle about your feelings. Maybe too subtle.ā
You quirked your head to the side, āwhat do you mean?ā You had grabbed a notepad from one of the drawers, pen in hand as you drew random spirals and patterns.
āIn all the time Iāve known you, you donāt seem to act a certain way when youāre interacting with someone you like,ā he seemed to be looking for the right words to elaborate correctly. āYou mask it so well that itās hard to notice the small things you probably donāt know you do.ā
āWhat do I do?ā You ask, scribbling in on some of the spaces on the notepad.
āYou tend to fiddle a lot with the stuff around you. Like you need to keep your hands busy,ā he explains as you pause on your scribbling. āNot like that. More like messing with a loose thread or your jewelry.ā
You nodded, recognizing all those moments in which you subconsciously fidgeted with different items.
āYou also get all smiley, like more than usual,ā he adds, chuckling at the thought. āItās cute when you have a crush.ā
You groaned, absentmindedly dragging the pen across the paper now. āYou sound like Yuna.ā
āWas Yuna also around when you liked Jisung? That was absolutely-ā
You shushed him, dragging it on until he finally quieted. āWe donāt speak of that.ā
āWhy not?ā Felix giggled. āYou guys were cute! Iām glad youāre still friends, but it was so funny because Jisung is so easily flustered and you get so giddy.ā
Your head is in your hands now, groaning loudly in the empty space.
āWhich makes me think⦠do you have a thing for Virgos?ā
You look up at that. āHuh?ā
āJisung is a Virgo. Seungmin is a virgo,ā he gasped. āIām a Virgo.ā
You let out a laugh, āyou say that like Iām hunting down Virgos one by one.ā
āMaybe you are,ā Felix whispers.
āI can assure you, I am not.ā
Felix hums, āyou sure do have a type, though.ā
āZip it,ā you sent him a glare with no true malicious intent.
Felix chatted with you a bit more until he got a call from Jeongin.
āHe said somethingās wrong with his PC and wants me to fix it,ā he explained.
āAre you IT support? I might have to contact you next time I have issues.ā
āI charge by the minute,ā he sends a wink your way and says his farewell.
After Felixās departure, you go through simple tasks to keep you busy before itās time to close up. Once you make it home, you decide to freshen up a bit before itās time to meet up with Seungmin. Already having changed into a pair of baggy cargo pants, you stare at your closet for five minutes straight before your phone buzzes.
seungmin :D
I forgot to ask where you wanted to meetā¦
It kinda slipped my mind haha
you
how about the campus library?
seungmin :D
That works!
Also totally unrelated question
Whatās your go-to drink from Sweet Haven
Sweet Haven was a local cafe that was fairly close to campus. Youāve been there numerous times with friends, never getting enough of their drinks and pastries.
you
hmmm
probably any of their iced lattes
You threw your phone on the bed before picking out a cropped tank top and your favorite zip-up hoodie. You adjusted your outfit before reaching for your perfume, doing just enough sprays to not be too much. You make sure to pack your laptop and other materials from your class into your backpack. Your phone buzzed again.
seungmin :D
Okay got it
Any special requests you make ?
Alt milk, more flavor, less espresso, etc. ?
You typed out your specifications and hit send, watching as he hearted your message a few seconds later and replied with a simple āOkay see you in a few.ā
It was obvious what he was doing, but you tried not to read too much into it. You tend to overthink, sure, but you were always hesitant when it came to feelings. You never liked to get ahead of yourself, to get your hopes up. While some people tend to just act upon their emotions without a second thought, you also had to consider the possibility that some people do simple deeds regardless of emotions. That theyād do it regardless of who it was for or for what reason.
Seungmin is just being nice. I know he sensed my nerves.
You reasoned in your head to keep your thoughts from going a mile a minute. You quickly shooed the thoughts away, glancing at the time and realizing you should start making your way to the library now.
You lived just a few minutes away from campus so it was a short drive. Not long enough to come up with a gameplan.
I donāt need a gameplan. I came here to study.
You groaned as you leaned against the steering wheel. You hadnāt talked to Seungmin for more than a couple minutes at a time. Now you were gonna be around him for an undesignated amount of time.
Why did I actually agree to this?
Despite the thoughts swirling around in your head, you opened your car door, reaching for your backpack in the passenger seat before closing the door and locking it.
The library building was recently renovated and had shiny glass doors with newly added elevators unlike the older buildings on campus. The elevators in those buildings had doors that screeched when opening and closing, and looked like they were barely passing maintenance checks nowadays.
You walked in through the main entrance, planning to wait for Seungmin there, but you heard someone call out your name.
You turned around at the sound, seeing Seungmin seated at one of the small tables already. He waved at you before standing up. He grabbed his backpack and swung it over his shoulder before grabbing a hold of the two drinks on the table.
His pink bangs rested on his forehead with a slight part in the middle. His bag had a plush charm that resembled a dog, a cute bow tied like a collar. You fought the urge to gush at the sight.
āAnd here I thought I was early for once,ā you said once you were close enough.
āI got here like a minute or two ago,ā he responded, holding out a drink for you. āI went with the caramel latte. I hope thatās okay.ā
You grabbed the drink from above, making sure to grip the cup more than the lid to avoid dropping it. āThank you. I honestly should be the one getting you something. Youāre the one helping me after all.ā
āNonsense. Like I said, Iām more than happy to help,ā Seungmin waved his hand, dismissing the thought. āNow, I wasnāt sure what you preferred and it was too late to book a study room, so I was thinking the third floor has a good balance between a quiet and collaborative environment.ā
You nodded, āsounds good to me.ā
You followed him to the elevator that was tucked away in a corner.
He pressed the button, turning to you as the elevator shaft made its way to the main floor. āBy the way, whatās your major?ā
āStill undecided. But, Iām leaning towards computer science or some of type of engineering.ā
He seemed to be thinking for a bit before responding, āyou seem more sure than you lead on.ā
āPerhaps,ā you say in a quiet voice.
The elevator dings and the doors slowly open. Seungmin motions for you to enter, following behind you and pressing the ā3ā and the button to close the doors.
āSo whatās making you hesitate?ā He asked, leaning against the elevator shaft.
You sipped your latte, āI guess Iām scared to commit to one and change my mind later on.ā
āItās okay if you change your mind,ā Seungmin looks at you, all features softened as he speaks. āLots of people end up changing their majors at least once.ā
āI know, but itās easier to do that when youāre one or even two years in. I feel like by your third you have to decide,ā you avoid looking right into his eyes, opting for more to the side or even his forehead.
He lets your words settle, only the sound of the elevator moving can be heard. āI suppose college doesnāt get easier at any point.ā
āIf itās not one thing, itās another,ā you add with a dramatic sigh to lighten the mood. āWhat about you? Whatās your major?ā
āKinesiology with a minor in math. For some odd reason,ā he mumbled like he couldnāt believe it himself.
āHmm,ā you sipped on your drink again as you took in his words. āWhat made you choose Kinesiology?ā
āI wanted to be a pro athlete when I was younger,ā he explained, taking a sip of his own drink. āMy parents told me to be a little more realistic.ā
āI mean I can see you go pro,ā you said half jokingly.
āYou donāt even know what sport Iād play,ā he chuckled.
āNot soccer,ā you ruled out. āNot tennis or golf,ā you continued. You looked at Seungmin, studying him like the answer would appear. It honestly seemed like more of an excuse to fully take him in. āIām stuck between volleyball and baseball.ā
The elevator dinged upon arriving to the third floor, doors opening smoothly. Seungmin once again waited for you to go first and followed close behind.
āAm I right?ā You piped back up, stopping just a few feet away from the elevator.
Seungmin seemed to be fighting off a smile with a playful gleam in his eyes. āPossibly.ā
He led the way to one of the tables closest to far right corner of the floor. He moved the surrounding whiteboards to allow space for you two to enter and take a seat.
āBaseball,ā you answered definitively. You placed your drink on the table before placing your backpack down as well, āIām almost a hundred percent sure itās baseball, but it may just be wishful thinking.ā
āYouāre right,ā he set his backpack down and immediately began to take out two of his notebooks. His continued to look down, but you could see the growing smiling on his face. āWait, what did you mean by wishful thinking?ā
Your hands stopped for a split second, your backpack only halfway opened before you continued. āJust wanted to be right. Which I was,ā you boasted, hoping it was convincing enough.
Totally not because baseball players have a nice physique. Honestly all athletes do. But baseball players have a nice-
You mentally shoo the thought away before you could complete it. If you get sidetracked now, thereās no going back.
āOkay, okay,ā Seungmin was letting out a small laugh. āWe can save that conversation for another time. I promised you a tutoring session so,ā he pushed his backpack aside, allowing for more space, āwhat are the issues youāre having?ā
āHere, I took note of some things we went over in class the other day,ā you said as you took your textbook and class notebook out. āThe professor goes over things so fast and barely gives us time to jot everything down, let alone absorb the material.ā
āIs Dr. Park still teaching that class?ā Seungmin asked as you flipped to the page with the notes from that day.
You nodded, āyeah he is.ā You sighed, stopping on your most recent notes. You stared at the rushed and barely intelligible handwriting. You usually go back to fix your notes, but had spent the entire day stressing about the tutor session. āExcuse my handwriting, I was in a rush.ā You say, biting the inside of your cheek as you slide your notes over to him.
He looks at your notes, āyour handwriting is fine. No need to worry,ā he lets out a small chuckle as he scans the pages. āImproper integrals. Gross.ā
You stifle your laughter, āI had the same reaction.ā
āIf it makes you feel any better, I hated this class,ā Seungmin admitted. āBut I studied my ass off day in and day out. Iām here so you donāt have to lose sleep over it like I did.ā
His reassurance warmed your heart, a smile grazing your face, āthank you.ā
Seungmin took the example problems and notes from your lecture and broke them down. He explained everything in detail and cleared up any confusion. You listened attentively, only getting slightly distracted when he rolled up the sleeves of his dark colored flannel. He also offered some tips and methods of solving these sort of problems. To finish off, he looked for some example problems in the book to have you solve.
Some of the problems you had no trouble starting. As you worked through them, you recognized the way some were structured in the same way the examples from class were. There were still a few you were unsure of how to start or continue. You left those blank and handed over your notebook for Seungmin to look over.
You think you solved them correctly but couldnāt stop yourself from sneaking glances at his face. You tried to read his expression, see if there was any sign of what he thought of your work.
After a moment, he finally looked up at you. āThe ones you answered are all correct,ā he offered you a curious look. āBut why did you leave some unfinished?ā
āIām not confident that Iāll answer correctly,ā you mumbled, a sinking feeling at the pit of your stomach.
āYou wonāt know if you donāt try,ā Seungminās voice was soft as he slid the notebook back to you. āAnd itās okay to get them wrong. If anything, itāll help me understand your thought process so I can give you some more tips. I know some of these will probably show up on the next exam.ā
You thumb at the corner of your notebook, staring at the problems as if the answer will eventually appear. Youāre reluctant to pick your pencil back up, freezing for a moment before slowly moving to work on the incomplete problems.
Once you finish the rest, you slide your notebook back over to Seungmin and sneak a glance. His lips are upturned sweetly and his eyes relaxed when he catches your gaze. You quickly look back down, fiddling with the pencil in your hand.
Seungmin hums as he skims your work. After a little while he slides the notebook between you two so you are both able to view it properly.
āMost of them are right. Thereās just three where you made really small mistakes,ā Seungmin uses his pen to circle some sections in your work. āSee here? You just forgot the negative signs. Very tiny mistakes when finding the anti-derivative, but very fixable.ā
"Oh," you respond quietly. You mentally work through the problems with that knowledge and move to write in the correct work and answer.
Seungmin, having watched you correct your work, moves to scribble something at the top. When he moves his hand back, you spot a smiley face and star next to the underlined one hundred.
"See? Just a little reminder and you were able to fix it and figure it out," Seungmin praises. "Honestly, it doesn't seem like you'll need my help for too long.
Your smile was wide, ātrust me. I'll definitely need all your help clarifying my lecture notes.ā
āTo be fair, Dr. Park seems to forget these are new topics to a lot of people. I think his lectures would be more effective if he didnāt teach with the assumption that everyone understands everything he does,ā Seungminās voice was soft and even, not criticizing just explaining.
āThatās exactly it,ā you agreed. āIt just feels like reviewing the topic rather than learning it.ā You looked at your work one last time before closing your notebook and textbook. āAnyway⦠Iām really thankful for your help. I already feel way better about the material.ā
Seungmin closed his own notebooks, smiling warmly at you. āIām glad to hear that. Youāre a pretty fast learner, you know?ā
You start to put your materials into your backpack, āreally?ā
He nods, putting his own notebooks away. āYou donāt know how long it took me to get improper integrals down, let alone the rest of Calc II.ā
āAnd yet, youāre doing a minor in math,ā your voice is laced with amusement as you zip your backpack up.
āIām a masochist if you havenāt noticed,ā he says so casually as he picks up both of your empty cups. āI like the challenge, I guess.ā
You watch as he walks to the nearest trash can to dispose of your cups, the urge to laugh bubbling up in your chest.
You walk out of the library together, the sun almost completely gone as the sky still holds a bit of light. Even so, Seungmin insists on walking you to your car despite how close it is to the entrance.
āSame time Wednesday?ā You ask him as you place your bag in the passenger seat.
āYeah, Iāll make sure to book us a study room,ā he confirms as he glances towards your dashboard. āAre those new?ā
You turn your attention to where heās looking. You have about four plushies sitting there, no bigger than ten centimeters. āThese? I think I put them here like a month ago.ā
He hums, his lips pursed. āCute,ā but heās looking right at you when he says that.
You can feel your face heat up before you have time to rationalize.
āLet me know when you get home,ā he says in a soft voice before you have the chance to respond to his previous statement.
āSee you, Seungmin,ā your voice quieter than you expected.
He waves and once again waits until your door is closed before he walks off.
Sticking to his word, Seungmin makes sure to book a study room for every tutoring session after that. He also reminds you that if you need any help prior to meeting again to text him any time. You do text him a few times, his answer always a few minutes later either providing help or letting you know when heāll be able to text back a proper response if he has his hands full.
Itās a surprise to you when he starts texting you about stuff unrelated to calculus. Once it was a post about a new cafe that opened up downtown. Another time it was a picture of some plushies similar to the ones you had in your car, asking if they had become popular because he had started seeing them around more often.
As he began to text you more often, you gained the confidence to text him about mundane things as well. You had told him about a new bakery item from Sweet Haven to which he excitedly asked for a review. At your next tutoring session he made sure to bring you the muffin you had told him about. You sent him a post you saw online about a baseball game coming up, sending him a screenshot to ask if he liked any of the teams playing.
Your friends teased you a lot, saying you both were avoiding the obvious, but you always shut them down and denied it all. A part of you considered the possibility that maybe Seungmin had a slight interest in you, but you almost always stopped that train of thought before it got too far. You wanted to believe that every conversation and every gesture meant something and it wasnāt all in your head. However, you wanted to spare yourself the heartbreak so you never truly bought into the idea no matter what your heart said.
It was the weekend before midterms, so you had planned a chill hang out with Felix to destress on Saturday. He had suggested ordering takeout, baking some sweets, and watching some movies at his place. You arrived at his place on the dot, texting him that you were there and heading to his door.
He hadnāt responded yet, so you knocked on his door. You waited for a bit before knocking again.
Maybe heās poopingā¦
You giggled to yourself before your smile dropped.
Stomach issues are no laughing matter.
You knocked one more time before deciding to text again.
you
lixxxxxx
iām outside your door
let me innnnnn
The typing bubble appeared almost immediately.
lixie poo ^o^
FUCK
IāM SO SORRY
SMTH CAME UP AT WORK
AND I WONāT BE ABLE TO DO OUR MOVIE NIGHT
I MEANT TO TEXT YOU
BUT I LEFT IN A HURRY

You sighed as you finished reading his last message.
you
itās okay lix
i hope everything is okay!
let me know if you need anything
lixie poo ^o^
iāll make it up to you :((
i promise!
You sighed as you pulled your car keys back out of your purse. You had been looking forward to your movie night with Felix, but knew that whatever it was mustāve been serious enough to cancel last minute. Just as you were about to leave, the door next to Felixās apartment unit opened with a familiar voice speaking.
āNo, no. Itās fine, Hyunjin. Donāt worry about it.ā
You look up to see Seungmin walking out the door, phone up to his ear as his eyes finally met yours. His eyes widened in surprise then morphed into confusion, waving at you before gesturing to his phone.
He was dressed in jean shorts that reached his knees and a white t-shirt peeking out from underneath the white jersey he had on with a black jersey slung over his shoulder. His hair was parted nicely, his pink bangs looking as soft as ever.
Oh right. He mentioned he was going to a baseball game tonight.
You two had briefly talked about your weekend plans the day before. Seungmin had been telling you about how excited he was to see his favorite team play. He had also mentioned he was dragging his friend along to watch the game with him since he was always holed up in his art studio.
āSeriously, donāt stress. Just make sure not to skip dinner, alright?ā Seungmin had closed the door by then, but his gaze never left you. āOkay, bye.ā He hung up, pocketing his phone absentmindedly. āHey, I didnāt expect to see you here,ā he smiled at you as he neared you.
āI didnāt expect to see you here either,ā you couldnāt hold back your own smile at the sight of him. āI didnāt know you lived next door to Felix.ā
āForgot to mention it,ā he seemed a bit embarrassed about it, rubbing the back if his neck. āI moved in before the semester started. I was kinda sick of the apartments on campus and Felix had told me this unit would be available, so I snatched it up before anyone else could,ā he had his hands in his pockets as he spoke. āI thought I saw Felix leave earlier. Didnāt you guys have a movie night planned?ā
āYeah, we had made plans to do it as his place, but he said something came up at work,ā your shoulders slumped involuntarily. āI see youāre off to your game, though.ā
He nodded, āyup. I was just about to leave to pick up my friend, Hyunjin, but he called me and said he has to stay and finish his painting. Thereās an art exhibit he wants to participate in and the deadline got moved up, so he wonāt be able to make it to the game.ā
āThatās too bad,ā was all you could think to say.
There was a beat of silence between you two.
āIām not sure if you had any other plans, but if you donāt... do you wanna come with me to the game?ā Seungminās voice sounded hopeful. āI mean, itāll be a nice way to relax before midterms. I wouldnāt want the ticket to go to waste either.ā
You. Alone. With Seungmin. Granted you had been spending time alone during your tutoring sessions but that was it. Tutoring sessions. Nothing more. You had never hung out with him outside of that.
āSure, Iād love to,ā your mouth and vocal chords moved to form the words before your brain could catch up. You wanted to facepalm at the little to no time you took to decide. āIām not exactly dressed for the occasion though,ā you motioned to your attire.
You had worn a simple pair of denim shorts that reached mid thigh and a black, ribbed tank top with a white zip-up. You fiddled with the purse hanging on your shoulder as Seungmin scanned your figure.
Seungmin tore his eyes away, holding the black jersey out to you, āyou can borrow my jersey if you want. I was going to let Hyunjin wear it anyways.ā
āAre you sure?ā You asked, wringing your hands.
āOf course,ā Seungmin moved to hold the jersey against your frame. āItāll go with the rest of your outfit.ā
Your stomach was churning while your heart felt fluttery. āIf you say so.ā
You unzipped your hoodie, reaching for the jersey as Seungmin took the hoodie and your purse from your hands without a word. The sight of Seungmin tossing your hoodie to hang on his shoulder caused you to nearly miss the sleeve of the jersey. After adjusting the jersey you took your purse from Seungminās hands, but were unsure if you should take the hoodie from him as he made no move to take it off his shoulder.
Seungmin seemed to take in your appearance for a moment. āYouāre all set,ā he winked, holding out an āokā sign. āThe stadium is walking distance from here, but we can drive there if you prefer that.ā
āIām okay with walking.ā
The walk to the stadium was no longer than fifteen minutes and in that time, Seungmin excitedly went through a normal rundown of a baseball game after you had asked him about it. You had known the basics of the game: running to bases, strikes, outs, and home-runs. You had asked about specifics regarding offense and defense plays, the number of innings and such. By the time you reached the stadium, you had a good understanding of the game.
The line to enter the stadium was running smoothly with you and Seungmin reaching the gate in no time. He handed the tickets to man at the gate, who scanned the QR code and ripped the ticket stub before handing them back to Seungmin.
āEnjoy the game,ā he said to you both.
You had only made it far enough from the gate to no longer be blocking the entrance when Seungmin turned to you, holding out one of the tickets, āyour memento.ā
You accepted the ticket, āyou know, this is my second baseball.ā
āEver?ā Seungmin asked, eyebrows raised like he couldnāt believe it.
āMhm,ā you nodded. āThe first game I went to was with my friend and her parents. I think I was barely starting high school then.ā
āDid you have a good time?ā Seungmin asked, beginning to walk as he led the way to the section your seats were in.
āDefinitely. It was exciting even if I didnāt have a designated team to cheer for,ā you laughed as you recalled the bits and pieces of that day. You look take a good look at the jersey Seungmin is wearing before looking at the one you have on. āSeems like today weāre rooting for Lotte Giants. Thatās your favorite team, right?ā
Seungmin turned his head to look at you. The sight of his brace lined teeth warmed your heart, āyeah! Iāve been looking forward to this game since I havenāt been to any in a while.ā
As you continued walking, you noticed just how close you were getting to the field. You took a look at your ticket, scanning it for your seats. What stuck out to you was the section and row number.
āSeungmin,ā you called out to him. He hummed, turning his head to the side to show he was listening as he walked down the steps. āAre we like- are we going to be close to the field?ā
āPossibly,ā his smile seemed more timid.
āSo when it says row eight that means weāre like,ā you gesture to the field, āgonna be right there?ā
Seungmin lets out a long āummā that gradually gets quieter before he finally stops. He gestures down the row with his arms, āweāre here. Seats five and six.ā
Your felt your jaw drop slightly, standing still for only a few seconds and then proceeding down the row. Once you take a seat, Seungmin plops right beside you, watching as you take in the view.
There were a few clouds in the sky, the sunās rays streaking in between and creating a soft yellow. The grass was perfectly trimmed with the bases sectioned off sharply. The net that was set up as the barrier between the seats and field swayed slightly from the wind. Your eyes trailed from your right to your left, landing on Seungmin who continued to wait for you to ask what was clearly on your mind.
āHow much were these tickets?ā
āWell, they honestly werenāt a lot,ā he quickly assures you. āMy uncle gets a discount on tickets so I usually get them through him.ā
āCan you give me an estimate?ā You hold on to your purse, but thatās a mistake on your part as he seems to catch on.
āNo,ā he adjusts the hoodie that now lays across his lap. āThe price will remain undisclosed.ā
āSeungmin-ā
āIām honestly not even sure,ā he scratches the back of his head. āThey were a birthday gift.ā
āYou just said you get your tickets through your uncle,ā you cross your arms across your chest.
āUsually. I said usually,ā he corrected.
āArenāt you a Virgo?ā You questioned him.
His eyebrows furrowed, but he nodded anyway. āYeah, so?ā
āItās April.ā
āWould it make more sense if I said it was an early or late birthday gift?ā
You rolled your eyes, though your smile betrayed you. āSeungmin, come on.ā
āI wasnāt planning on charging Hyunjin so why would I charge you?ā Seungminās eyes softened as he looked at you, waiting to see what youād say next.
āThen how about I buy you something from the concession stands? What are you in the mood for?ā
You stand up from your seat.
āYou really donāt have to,ā he tries to motion for you to sit down. He seems to wait a bit to see if youāll give in. āYouāre not gonna let this go, are you?ā
You shook your head, still standing up.
His bit his lip, seemingly contemplating his options. āIf I agree, will you at least let me go get the food?ā He still seems reluctant to accept your offer.
āOnly if you agree to take my card and leave me your wallet,ā you hold your hand out.
Seungmin sighs but stands up and proceeds to take out his wallet, āthis feels wrong.ā
You take your card out your purse, exchanging it for his wallet, āthank you.ā
āWhat would you like?ā Seungmin asks. His voice slightly dejected as he stands up, leaving your hoodie over the back of his seat.
You hummed as you thought over your choices, āIāll do a blue raspberry slushie and a hot dog, please.ā
Seungmin nodded, checking the time on his phone, āOkay, Iāll be right back. The game shouldnāt start for another twenty minutes, but if Iām not back by then Iām counting on you to fill me in,ā he made a pleading gesture with his hands before taking his leave after you sent him a thumbs up.
You finally sit back down, feeling your phone buzzing. It mustāve been buzzing for a while since text notifications flood your lockscreen.
At first, it seemed to be a spam of messages from Yuna that quickly turned into various messages from your group chat with the girls with new messages still popping up. All the messages were in regards to your whereabouts, a flurry of concerned texts filled your screen.

You laugh at their messages, trying to shake the bashful feeling off as you exit the text conversation. You open the camera on your phone and turn it to face you to examine your face.
Okay, I don't look too flustered. I should be good.
You close out of the camera and check the time. Nearly ten minutes left until the game starts. You take a look around and it isn't long before you spot Seungmin making his way back with his hands full.
In one hand he carried a small box that had what you assumed was your food, wrapped snuggly in aluminum foil with little containers of toppings and packets of condiments right beside them. In his other hand he held two cups. One was your slushie, dome lid showcasing the vibrant blue of the blended drink. The other was thin and almost as long as his torso. The cupās body was narrower towards the bottom before curving into what seemed to be the end of a handle. It wasnāt long before you realized what the cup resembled: a baseball bat.
You let out a laugh at the comically shaped cup as you take the box from him. āWhat is that?ā
"I ordered a beer and they were all out of the normal cups," the tip of Seungmin's ears are tinted red.
He carefully sits down in his seat as he switches his beer to his other hand. You place the box on the seatās handles. Once your hands are free, Seungmin holds out your slushie.
āThank you,ā your voice full of content. You take a sip of your slushie, delighted at the sweet taste of the icy drink.
āOh, before I forget,ā he reaches into his front pocket, pulling out the slim piece of plastic, āhere is your card.ā
You grab his wallet from your lap, holding it out to exchange with him, āand hereās your wallet.ā His fingertips brushed the palm of your hands as he gently grabbed his wallet.
āBy the way,ā he quickly shoved the wallet into his pocket before motioning towards the small containers, āI wasnāt sure what you liked on your hot dog so feel free to grab whatever.ā
"Thank you," you say as you put your card back into your purse. Once that's done, you reach for your food as your brain buzzes with questions to fill the air. āSo, how are the Lotte Giants doing so far this season?ā
Seungmin sighs, preparing his own hot dog to his liking, ātheyāre not doing horribly, but theyāve definitely done better.ā
"Do you have high hopes for them today?" You ask as you're grabbing your own toppings and condiments.
"Against the Doosan Bears?" he tilts his head as he thinks, pausing any further movements as well. "I think so. I hope so. I made a bet with one of my friends."
"Hmm, how much is on the line?" You ask intrigued at the stakes.
"Well, we aren't necessarily betting money," Seungmin hesitates for a moment, "more like owing the other a favor."
"I see," You nod, more curious than ever, but you refrain from digging for more. "Let's hope the Lotte Giants come through for you tonight then."
"If things work out in my favor, I'll be sure to tell you all about it," Seungmin winks. Despite the smug smile on his face, it's hard to miss the red tips of his ears.
Soon after you start eating, the game officially starts with all the players and mascots now out onto the field. Lotte Giants are the first to pitch and it isn't hard to tell how much Seungmin really does love the sport. Or maybe it's the team. Possibly both.
Seungmin seems to be in his element as he watches intently while still taking the time to explain what's going on when he senses you're a bit lost. When it comes to the fan chants, he even leans in a bit more so you're able to hear the chant from him more clearly.
It isn't long before the sun is gone and the large, bright lights are illuminating the field and stands. Insects gather, basking in the lights shining down. The air is crisp, but the breeze feels harsher than earlier.
"Here," Seungmin's voice cuts through as you feel something envelope your bare legs. You look down at your hoodie that is now draped over your lap. "I hope you didn't think I was hogging it."
"Not at all," you smile shyly. You grab the top of your hoodie to shield your upper body without moving it too far from your legs.
Suddenly you hear an uproar from the crowd and before you get a chance to look towards the field, you hear a resounding thump, followed by a prolonged 'ow' right next to you.
You watch as a few people scramble for the baseball that soared above the net after having bounced off your precious tutor's head.
"Seungmin," you drop your hold on your hoodie as you fully turn to face him. "Are you okay?"
He's holding his head as he winces quietly, "yeah, I'm fine."
"You don't look fine," your frown is automatic as you take in his state.
"I mean, yeah it hurts, but it's not the first time it happens," he attempts to reassure you as he looks at you. His features soften from his previously scrunched up face, "I'm okay. Promise."
"Are you alright? Come so we can get you checked at the infirmary," a stadium worker calls out for Seungmin from the end of the row. She's ushering for Seungmin to follow, but he makes no move to get up.
"Seungmin, come on," you get up from your seat and slip your hoodie back on hurriedly. "Let's get you checked out," you gently grip onto his arm to tug him to a standing position.
He softly says your name in protest yet stands up anyway. You guide him down the row, holding on to his elbow.
"I'm okay. Really," he keeps insisting even now that you've both made it to the steeps. "There's no need for all this hassle."
"I'd rather know now than when you collapse on the way home."
"If," he corrects as you both follow the stadium worker. "Which wouldn't happen, but I'll go."
The silent confirmation as to why he agrees isn't lost on your part. You hold on to his arm the entire way to the infirmary and stay by his side as the medic is checking that everything is okay.
"Everything seems normal," the medic finally confirms causing you to let out a breath. "I'd still recommend taking it easy for a bit just to make sure. I'll check back in a few." She awaits our nods before leaving to check on an injured player.
"Is the ice helping?" You ask, anxiously eyeing the ice pack that Seungmin is holding in place.
"It barely even hurts now," he moves the ice pack from his head.
"So, if I were to," your hand begins moving upwards, though Seungmin quickly dodges out of the way. You raise an eyebrow at the motion.
Seumgin quickly recovers, clearing his throat. "I never said it wouldn't hurt if you touched it."
You grab the ice pack from his loose hold and gently place it back onto his head, "sure."
The door to the infirmary opens to reveal a man sporting a Lotte Giants' polo shirt and khaki pants. He makes his way over to the medic that had been with you two only moments ago.
"What are the chances he's here for you?" You whisper to Seungmin.
"Yeah, right," he whispers back to you. "Most he's gonna say is 'sorry for that! Here's some free tickets!'"
"Would that be such a bad thing?" You joke. Though you take note of the way the man and medic keep glancing and gesturing in your direction. "I think he is here for you... quick. Act like you're on the verge of passing out."
"What? Why would I do that?" Seungmin's smile is not helping the injured case you are trying to sell.
"For free stuff," you say with a 'duh' expressed on your face.
"I don't get how- oh, he's actually coming this way," Seungmin mumbles.
"Hi. I'm Coach Yoon with the Giants," the man introduces himself. "You must be Seungmin."
Seungmin's silent, mouth agape with shock.
"Yes, sorry. He's a bit disoriented right now," you quickly supply.
Seungmin's eyes widen at your words, but Mr. Yoon speaks up.
"No, no. We should be the ones who are sorry about the incident, truly" he bows his head a bit. "Let us make it up to you guys."
Seungmin shakes his head slowly, "no. That won't-"
"You can meet one of our players after the game," Mr. Yoon cuts Seungmin off. "Maybe take a couple pictures. How does that sound?"
Seungmin's express quickly falls, reaching to grasp the ice pack on his head, though he ends up holding your hand that is still resting there. "I don't wish to take up your guys' time," his other hand reaches across to rub at his shoulder.
You put on your best poker face when your free hand joins the one on his shoulder. It's getting harder to ignore the heat emanating from his hands, but you continue to hold your composure.
"It's no trouble at all," Mr. Yoon gestures with his hands to emphasize his point. "We'll even throw in some free season passes for you guys."
"You're too kind, Mr. Yoon," you nod solemnly.
"It's the least we could do," he bows once again. "I'll be sure to come get you guys once the game is over. Not too long now, so just sit tight."
Once heās out of the infirmary room, you rub exaggeratedly at Seungminās shoulder. āI didnāt know the pain could travel from your head all the way down to your shoulder.ā
Seungmin makes a show of rolling his shoulders and grimacing at the action, āif it gets me a meet and greet with one of my favorite teamās players then Iām smelling numbers and hearing colors.ā
āHave you thought about joining theater? I think they could use someone like you.ā
āI donāt want to steal the show,ā he says.
You two chat quietly while you wait for Coach Yoon to come back. When he first enters the infirmary again, he asks for Seungminās contact information to finalize the season passes.
In order to not seem too enthusiastic, you tell Seungmin to lean on you as if youāre helping him walk steadily. He only goes as far as looping his arm with you to avoid putting too much weight on you. Youāre walked through the tunnel that the players typically walk out of to get to the field. The stands are now empty and all thatās left is a few workers lingering around along with one of the Lotte Giants players facing the baseball field.
Coach Yoon calls for his attention and once heās facing you and Seungmin, youāre both left a little speechless.
Seungmin seems to finally break out of his trance when you give him a small nudge. "You're Go Seungmin," he says with wide eyes, unable to close his mouth.
The tall baseball player takes his cap off with a sheepish smile. "I just wanted to express how sorry I am," he bows. "I thought it'd be a fun little gesture to toss a ball into the crowd, but I didn't think it'd hit anyone. So again, I am very sorry.ā
Seeing as Seungmin is still a little starstruck, you speak up for him. āYou definitely got him good. But heās a huge fan, so I think this makes up for it,ā you let out a laugh, glancing at Seungmin.
āWell, itās a good thing your girlfriend was here to make sure you were okay,ā Go Seungminās words settle in.
Girlfriend?
You and Seungmin glance at one another then turn to the baseball player in front of you, sputtering to correct him.
āOh no, weāre not dating,ā Seungmin finally finds his voice again.
āWeāre just friends,ā you add on.
Youāve become a little self conscious about your arms being looped together, but you donāt think itās too smart to let go of Seungmin just yet. Youāre still trying to give off a convincing injury case after all.
āOh, I must have misinterpreted,ā the baseball player is quick to say. āSorry about that. I just wanted to say youāre a lucky guy for having someone as pretty as her looking after you.ā
You conjure up a nervous smile as you feel a slight flutter in your stomach. Your face feels warmer than it did a few seconds ago, close to breaking a sweat.
Despite your own nerves, you feel Seungmin tense up next to you. He then moves his arm out of your hold, to now lay across your shoulders. He leans a bit of his weight on you and you instinctively move to support him with your arm around his waist.
āYeah,ā Seungminās smile is small. āIām lucky to have her.ā His cheek now leaning onto the your head. āCouldāve dropped dead on the way to the medic.ā
Your body is buzzing with how close he is now. His voice is teasing, you notice the slight rise in pitch and almost melodic tone he carries. You reach for his hand thatās now laying over your shoulder and give it a squeeze.
āYet, I had to drag you there myself even when you insisted you were fine.ā
His lips form a pout, his eyes suddenly appearing teary. āI was trying to seem brave, but nothing gets past you.ā
āIām sorry again, about the ball incident,ā the baseball player seemingly butts in to remind you two of his presence. āI wish we couldāve met under different circumstances, but Iām always happy to meet some fans,ā he makes a gesture to his coach. āI also brought these for you guys.ā
The coach hands Go Seungmin a simple black duffel bag. He reaches inside, searching for a few seconds before pulling out a baseball and glove. He hands the baseball to you and the glove to Seungmin, both signed.
āOh my gosh,ā you say under your breath.
Seungmin is turning the glove over in his hold, examining every side and angle, āthis is amazing. Thank you so much.ā
āItās no problem at all,ā he shrugs his shoulders. āYou guys wanna take a quick picture before you go?ā
Seungmin looks to you, waiting for you to give some sort of response. You nod to which he then responds with, āweād love to.ā
Seungmin hands his phone to the coach before you āhelpā him to the pitcherās right side. As you make a move to pull away, Seungmin keeps his hold on you.
He blinks at you with the tiniest of pouts ghosting his lips, āIām feeling a little dizzy.ā
A smile is grazing your face before you can stop it. You say nothing in response, but move to stand next to Seungmin and adjust your hold on him. You all look forward, facing the direction of Seungminās phone where the coach snaps a few photos of the three of you.
Once the coach brings the phone down, itās your guysā cue to start bidding farewell.
āI hope you guys were still able to enjoy the majority of the game,ā Go Seungmin says. āI would love to see you guys come to future games of ours.ā Although his words addressed you both, he seemed to be looking directly at you.
āWe will,ā Seungmin replied, voice dripping with honey.
Before you exited the field completely, Seungmin moved out of your hold to face you. He reached for the bottom of your hoodie, aligning the zipper to make sure the hoodie was closed and adjusted the strings.
You looked up at him, head tilting in question.
āDonāt want you catching a cold. Thatās all.ā
By the time you two make it out of the stadium, the area is practically deserted. You let go of Seungminās waist to dig his ice pack out of your purse and plop it back on his head.
āMr. I Donāt Wanna Fake It,ā you mumbled. āYou totally went all out for that performance.ā
āIām pretty sure he was catching on to us,ā Seungminās arm remains draped across your shoulders. āI had to give him some convincing material.ā
āYour dedication is admirable,ā you say, brushing his pink bangs back without thinking twice.
You swear his cheeks almost match the color of his bangs, but itās a little hard to tell without as much light around. The walk back feels shorter than the walk to the stadium. Seungmin remained glued your side and to avoid any awkward placements, your arm found its way circled around his torso once again.
Having seen your car various times by now, Seungmin simply walks towards it the moment you reach the parking lot of the apartment complex.
You linger by your car door, finally letting go of Seungmin now that his hold on you has loosened as well. You immediately feel the lack of warmth biting at your side.
āThank you for inviting me,ā you say. āI hope the hit on the head didnāt damper your mood too much.ā
āI donāt think anything could at this point,ā Seungmin dismisses the thought with a small wave of his hand, āand thank you for coming with me. I had a nice time.ā
Your phone buzzes once, cutting through the silence. āProbably my roommates again,ā you pat your purse. āI better get going.ā
āGet home safe,ā Seungminās smile is wide enough to show the clear brackets on his teeth. āLet me know when you do.ā
āI will,ā you say. You open your car door, the slowest you ever have. Sliding into the driverās seat, you say a quick ābyeā and close the door.
Seungmin waves from outside the door and moves to head inside. You watch his retreating figure until heās disappeared into the building entirely.
You pull your phone out of your purse. You soon realize the time is slightly passed midnight. You quickly open your notifications and notice one from Lia.
lia *_*
y/nnnn
i'm so close to falling asleep
but i wanted to let you know that i
ordered takeout earlier and your
card was still on there from last
i hadn't noticed till after but i'll pay
you back luv
gnnnn
Sure enough, the charge from the takeout is there. Though the notification itself raises another question. You quickly open your bank app to look at the rest of your bank statements. Oddly enough, that is the only transaction of the day. There shouldāve been at least one more transaction from earlier that day, but not even a pending charge shows up.
Seungmin, what did you doā¦.
You figure youād ask him about it next time you see him in person. You have reason to believe he'll still try to lie about it. Better for you to ask him face to face rather than give him a chance to hide every miniscule detail behind a screen.
You shake your head at the thought and simply put your music on shuffle for the ride home. Not many cars are out at this time, so the drive back to your place is quite peaceful.
Once you've arrived at your apartment, you send a quick message to Seungmin letting him know you got home, hoping it won't wake him if he's already fallen asleep. Upon opening the door to your apartment, you smile at the sight in front of you. Yuna is sprawled out on the couch, fast asleep with a big, fuzzy blanket wrapped around her.
You quietly kick off your shoes at the entrance, placing them in the shelf near the front door. You grab your pair of slippers before making your way to where Yuna was.
You adjust the blanket from where it was slipping off her body, making sure it was properly situated. You notice a few snack wrappers on the small coffee table and gather them up to toss them away, making sure not to accidentally swipe Yuna's phone to the ground. Among the wrappers is a bright pink sticky note with what you recognize as Chaeryeongās handwriting.
āLia and I are going to bed. Yuna said she was gonna stay up⦠sheāll probably be asleep in 5 mins. Just leave her be - Chaer ā”ā
You scan the table and spot the thin pen near the edge. You uncap the pen, scribbling on your own message before moving the sticky note to be right on top of Yunaās phone.
āSleep well, Yuna! I will tell you everything in the morning - Y/n :)ā
After leaving the note there, you toss the wrappers away and make sure all the lights are off before you slip into your room quietly. It isn't until you're taking your hoodie off that you realize you forgot to return the jersey you borrowed.
I'll just have to give it back to him at our next tutoring session.
You place the jersey on your desk chair, making a mental note to wash it on the most delicate settings when you get the chance. You quickly change into the comfiest sleepwear you have, getting ready to go through your nightly routine when your phone vibrates from where it's sitting on your bed.
Must be Seungmin. He probably realized I still have his jersey.
You didnāt start auditioning for television roles until you were a freshman in high school. It took a while to convince your parents to allow you the chance to pursue acting. You had promised them that you wouldnāt neglect your schoolwork if you were given the chance to try out acting outside of school. You managed to have a few chances at being an extra in the background of some shows and movies, though it wasnāt until the end of your junior year in high school that you managed to start getting actual roles. You made your main account as soon as you started taking on these roles. Sometimes as a character with no name and few lines. Occasionally you played a character whose backstory was enough for the conflict and resolution of an episode. There were a few times that you played minor reoccurring characters, having enough of a connection to the main characters of a show to appear a few times throughout a season of a show. From the beginning of your acting journey till now, youāve gained a quite a bit of a following. Despite this, you have yet to be verified⦠but no matter. Youāve landed your first major role and have a permanent spot in the main cast. And so, you begin a new chapter in your career.
Hwang Hyunjin was the first friend you made through acting. You two had been auditioning for the same show at the time. The characters you two were auditioning for were college campus matchmakers that appeared a few times in the show. Part of the audition involved doing scenes with other auditionees. It wasnāt until you and Hyunjin were paired up that the scene just seemed to come to life. Because the matchmakers had a bit of a love scenario going on themselves, it was crucial that the actors casted for the role had chemistry. You and Hyunjin improvised actions and lines, complimenting one another in each scene you did together. Hyunjin had insisted on keeping in touch after the audition process. He was the first person you could confide in that understood firsthand the stress and anxiety when it came to auditioning and waiting for final casting decisions. Once you both received the news of getting the part, you met up to celebrate with a nice meal (convenience store food). When word started going around about 3rd Eye auditions, Hyunjin made sure you knew about it. You had practiced lines together and exchanged tips and advice for executing different scenes. This time, when you both received the news about getting your respective roles, you had a proper meal at a restaurant and having a few drinks before spending the rest of the night playing Just Dance at Hyunjinās place.
Goo Gunil had done some acting in school and local theater productions during his teen years before going into television acting. He fell in love with acting when his middle school English class was required to write and perform sketches for their parents as part of an end-of-the-year project. Once reaching high school he had signed up for the schoolās acting troupe and tried out for every school production. When there werenāt any school productions in progress, he sought local productions. It was at a local production that Gunil was scouted and had a manager in only a few months. Although he was a bit hesitant, he seemed to fall in love with acting even more and was beyond excited to be pursuing his passion. It had seemed like something that would only last during grade school. As soon as Gunil saw the chance, he figured he had nothing to lose. Since then, heās lived the joys of doing what he loves as his job- something he only dreamed of before. He often worked in various genres: musical, crime, action, thriller, and many more. Though, Gunil had been dying for roles that leaned more towards comedy. Just as fate would have it, 3rd Eye appeared as the perfect opportunity.
Lee Minho was a part-time model and dancer prior to acting. He had spent most of his teen years focusing on dancing and only got into modeling when he needed some extra cash. He had gotten into acting for a similar reason- that and he was bored. It was small roles at first, either for commercials or short films. What started off as another pass time soon became something Minho found fun and exciting. He found the experience to be far more interesting, so he took some acting classes to gain a bit more experience and qualification. He was a natural and could land a role for just about anything, but never once went to an audition for a production that didnāt interest him. His manager insisted on some less than appealing roles, but Minho was determined to only stick to projects he found intriguing no matter how much his manager tried to convince him. By now his manager knew what auditions to filter out and which were actually worth mentioning to Minho. Needless to say, the audition to 3rd Eye was booked prior to Minhoās confirmation.
Han Jisung has been close friends with Minho for years now. So much so that they became roommates as soon as Jisung turned 18. He had met Minho when he was on his personal journey to break out of his shell. Something he thought would help was dance classes. Jisung just so happened to go to the same dance studio that Minho did. Although Jisung stumbled over his feet learning the first few steps, Minho knew he had potential. Minho was always taking the time to make sure Jisung got all the steps down and Jisung always gravitated towards Minho when it came to dancing in groups. After some time, they started hanging out outside of dance. When Minho started getting into acting, he had Jisung help him prepare for auditions and rehearse lines. He would even drag him to his auditions. It was during an audition preparation that Minho suggested Jisung try out for the role, too. Jisung protested, argued, provided an extensive list on why he shouldnāt, but was ready by the time Minho picked him up the morning of the audition. Although he didnāt get the role he originally auditioned for, he managed to get a minor role from his very first audition. It was when he excitedly called Minho that he admitted to being more interested in acting than he led on. Jisung had never been so dead set on anything else like he had been on acting. And just like any other audition, Jisung was happily dragged to the 3rd Eye auditions by Minho.
Choi Jisu- better known by her stage name Lia -had started acting as a child when her mother had taken her to a childrenās arcade. A recording crew had been around that day, looking to get some shots for a commercial. When Lia was enthusiastically playing a whack-a-mole game, the director decided to ask Liaās mother if itād be possible for her daughter to be in the commercial. Lia paid them no mind as she continued to play and drag her mom along to each game that caught her eye. At one point, the director asked if they could try getting Lia to say a few lines. Although her mother wasnāt sure if sheād comply, she told them it was okay to try. Lia turned out to be a natural, allowing the crew to gather just the footage they needed to make the perfect commercial. As compensation, they gifted Lia a year long pass with free tokens and food. Once the commercial aired, Lia became fascinated with television. It wasnāt long before she started to beg her mom to let her act. Her mother wasnāt convinced, but looked into commercial shoots to test the waters. When Liaās fascination only seemed to grow, she decided to look into other acting opportunities. Lia has much experience under her belt, but the more fun roles she had seemed to be limited to when she was still a child. In her teen years, a majority of her roles leaned more towards the serious, soap opera genre. While those were still amazing, Lia wanted to get back into more amusing roles. It wasnāt to prove she her capabilities and shut down the doubts, but to experience something she had begun to miss. When her manager forwarded an email regarding 3rd Eye auditions, everything seemed to fall into place.
Authorās Note: I apologize for the wait. Iāve been busy with work and summer class (boooo). I know these profiles are more of an introduction but I wanted to set the stage and descriptions in a way that I was happy with. Is the length good? Iām not sure if Iām doing too much or just enough. I promise after this introduction stuff there will be more socmed -esque parts!! There was also a recent incident involving Junhan from xdh and although he is one of my biases/ults, itās made me feel as Iāve been in a weird limbo as a fan. Iāll be thinking about how to move forward in this au since I planned to include him before everything happened. Thank you guys for your patience! Iām aiming for the next set of profiles to be posted sooner and get into the story. I also really appreciate the support on this already <33 take care everyone! And let me know if anyone of you would like to be part of the taglist :)

Meet Y/n (priv edition) and friends from back home!
You made a private account as soon as you started delving into being an actress because of digital footprint and whatnot. Youāre still a bit unhinged on your main account, but your private is for matters youād rather not have show up in articles or threads about you. You had to avoid adding any indication that it could be you, aside from proclaiming yourself as the number one Gojo lover.
Shin Ryujin, your biggest supporter. Youāve known each other since middle school. Having taken the same route to school, Ryujin struck up a conversation with you once you realized that Ryujin wasnāt just following you and that she was also a student- though you shouldāve known by her uniform. Youāve been attached at the hip since, with Ryujin being the one who pushed you towards pursuing your dream towards acting.
Oh Seungmin, your biggest supporter after Ryujin (according to Ryujin though Seungmin begs to differ). You had moved into the same apartment complex as him right before high school. When you were cat sitting for Ryujin one day, you made the mistake of opening the door without a second thought. Luckily, Seungmin caught Dallie only moments after to which he proceeded to recommend a leash and even an inhaler after seeing how winded you were after going down one flight of stairs. You offered to get him lunch as a thank you, though he didnāt know said lunch would be from the school cafeteria. Nonetheless, you two became close friends with only minimal bickering from him and Ryujin.
Han Hyeongjun was the only other student in your freshman gym class that wasnāt enthusiastic about running around and getting sweaty in between classes. You two often paired up when there was partner or team activities, normally opting to do just enough for participation points. The transition from school friend to regular friend was quick between you two. You often attended his marching band meets, while he attended your theater performances. He became an integral part of your small circle.
Kwak Jiseok was the guy in your math class that spent his time playing CoolMath games and still understood more than the avid notetakers and overachievers. You knew you could trust him when youād be paired up to work on problems and heād give his full attention to do his part. You two were always the first ones to finish with plenty of time to spare. Outside out of school and studies, Jiseok seemed to be accessing a completely different side of his brain. There had been a time where he tried to light a birthday candle⦠on the wrong side. Needless to say you often get whiplash seeing how his brain works at times. Jiseok had managed to wiggle his way into your circle without notice, even talking you into joining a math competition with him.
Lee Jooyeon is a childhood friend of Jiseokās so it wasnāt long before he popped up into your life. You didnāt actually meet him until he randomly joined you and Jiseok one day while working on an assignment together in the library. He claimed Jiseok and him were package deal, but Jiseok denied this even with the matching friendship bracelet on his wrist. Jooyeon was in your home economics class the next semester where one of the projects involved taking care of a fake baby with a partner. Jooyeon volunteered to be your partner and provided a ring pop to seal the deal. He ended up taking the project very seriously, going as far as using a baby carrier throughout each school day. You two received the highest grade on that project and to this day he still calls you his fake wife, much to Ryujinās chagrin.
Authorās Note: jooyeon having the most unusual following to follower ratio just seems on brand for him. donāt ask how he did it (he tricked ppl into doing f4f just to unfollow after). also yes, i am projecting as a gojo lover. i will most likely do the rest of the profiles in the next few days :) i hope you guys are looking forward to this!!

Summary: You begin your new journey as an actress after being casted through a nationwide audition. With the support of your friends back home and your new castmates, you settle in nicely as you begin to live out your dream as a cast member of the new sitcom 3rd Eye. The sitcom follows the story of supernatural experts who put their knowledge to use by doing commissions and consultations for those who seek it. In other words: nerds who love the occult so much they start a small business surrounding it. While the friendly banter between you and your co-stars makes for great chemistry on set, the humor doesnāt translate well with neighboring sets.
Hollow Nights is a melodramatic show, revolving the lives of young adolescents who become intertwined with one another through the mysterious past that haunts their small town. Yang Jeongin, the protagonist of the show, is used to revolving his entire agenda around Hollow Nights. He occupies his time with rehearsal, interviews, celebrity events, self-care, and team bonding that his fellow castmate insists on regardless of Jeonginās protests.
Despite both shows being part of JYP Studios, there seems to be tension as 3rd Eye makes its debut and Hollow Nights releases a new season. Youāre forced to improvise through the unknown territory that is stardom, but quickly find youāre unable to hide behind a persona when youāre around Yang Jeongin.
Authorās Note: hi everyone!! this is my first smau and kinda comeback to writing? i wanted to do something fun and silly but also cute perhaps⦠my friend gave me the idea to do smth based off the dynamic between sonny and chad from sonny with a chance bc itās one of our favorites so this idea was born from that! there may be some inspo from the show bc some moments are too good not to incorporate⦠but i promise it wonāt follow the exact storyline and will be its own thing ^^ i hope you guys have fun reading this ! lmk your thoughts ! i really appreciate comments, likes, and reblogs <33
This past Saturday, June 14, my friend Alexa Carrasco, 21, was peacefully protesting with me at the No Kings protest in Riverside, California, standing up for a cause she deeply believed in. A car violently rammed through the crowd, and Alexa was tragically run over.
She was rushed to the hospital and is currently in critical condition in the ICU with life-threatening injuries. She is scheduled to undergo surgery later today, and while we have limited information from doctors at the moment, we know her recovery will be long and incredibly difficult.
Alexa is loving, outgoing, and full of life. Sheās the kind of person who always shows up for others, and she was so proud to be out there using her voice. She did not deserve what happened to her.
Iāve created this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden on her family as they face mounting medical bills, time away from work, and the emotional weight of caring for Alexa through this crisis.
Please consider donating or sharing to support Alexaās recovery and to show love to her and her family during this unimaginably painful time. Every share and donation truly makes a difference.

a/n: hello, hello. iāve had this in my notes for the longest and finally came about finishing it up. i, very much, love hyunjinās lyricism in this song and thought iād write something inspired by that in the pov of hyunjin. almost like an elaboration or extension of the song! i was intending for it to be longer but⦠i like how it turned out and the length isnāt my biggest concern as a result haha. hope you all enjoy it :)
hyunjin canāt help but stare at the waffle cone in his hand as the ice cream starts dripping down the sides. the flavors are blending into one ugly and sticky mess that has him mesmerized. he contemplates on whether he should try and savor every last drop or give up entirely and trash whatās left.
he wiggles his fingers as he adjusts his grip and grimaces a bit at the cold cream thatās covering his hand. eating the ice cream now wonāt change its current state, but he wants nothing more than to treasure the sweet taste and deal with the cleanup after.
symbolism is interesting in the way that the melting treat makes hyunjin think of the person he feels sickeningly drawn to as of late. it makes the situation far less sad and ugly. it makes it seem more beautiful even if it is disheartening.
but hyunjin doesnāt like seeing the negative side to things. he sees everything in rose colored tint and ignores the slight sting he feels from time to time. although he considers himself hopeful, his friends consider him foolish. foolishly in love, heāll say with a chuckle and his friends will crack a smile and shake their heads.
he knows they mean well when they express their concern. itās not easy to ignore hyunjinās predicament. not when he gives out more than heāll ever get back. you donāt love because you expect to receive love in return, he says to them. they coo and touch their beating hearts that warm at his words. their worry settles down at his sweet words and heās content with having them at ease. it also eases his own worries and serves to convince himself as well.
he wants to believe in love. he wants to prevent himself from thinking that love hurts. love and heartbreak are two separate feelings. if he gets his heart broken in the end, he only has himself to blame.
why blame the person he has feelings for if they merely exist? that isnāt to say hyunjin has control of what he feels, but he still entertains the ideas that come with harboring feelings for someone. he canāt help who he falls for and that person canāt help who they are.
they may not have the kindest demeanor or be the friendliest. though, thereās those rare moments when he gets just a glimpse of their charming smile, even if rare. those childish words that teeter between bitter sarcasm and playfulness. he feels his heartstrings tugged by such acts and words. the rarity of it makes him cherish it far more than anyone else could.
part of him knows heās deluding himself. making assumptions that are more than just a reach, but nearly a leap. he convinces himself that heāll get more of those warm and heart fluttering moments the more he gets to know and spend time with them. hyunjin gets giddy at the thought that one day heāll make them feel just as heās feeling now.
he tries not to disappoint himself in the reality of it all: that all his hope will be for nothing. he twists and turns all the aspects of the situation just to make his story of love rather than hurt. heās hopeful for their sake just as much as his own.
because in his eyes he sees them as nothing more than perfect even if a bit complicated, heāll continue to love them until heās left with nothing at all. love is everything and maybe heāll get that in return someday. if heās left empty with no one to refill his aching heart then heāll have no choice but to attempt to love himself the way that person couldnāt.
somehow, heās more than okay with that. heāll gain that love back even if it doesnāt come from another. even if love is everything, itās also never ending. no matter if the ice is cold because ice cream is just as cold and much sweeter.
