Artwork of Bowser and Bowser Jr. on the windows of the Nintendo Tokyo store. The high-resolution version of this artwork was only ever used for this decoration (and promotional Nintendo Tokyo material) and has never been released in a standalone digital form.

The official artwork of Yoshi fishing from Mario Party Advance (top) is the only time he has been depicted in his modern (post-1998) design in ¾-view without the orange spines on the back of his head being visible, giving the image an odd appearance, as though it was missing something.

Compare other modern 2D artwork of Yoshi from that angle (bottom row), where the spines are always visible.

Segment from a French commercial for Donkey Kong Land 2, featuring an original animation using the 3D models from the Donkey Kong Country cartoon. In this scene, Donkey Kong disappears because he is not a playable character in the game, which features Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong instead.

Concept for a Marilyn Monroe-inspired “beautiful NPC” that would have appeared in New Donk City in Super Mario Odyssey, seen in the Art of Super Mario Odyssey book.

Timehop, a smartphone application that collects the user’s old photos and posts for the purposes of reminding the user of past experiences, uses its mascot, Abe the Dino, for a variety of promotional artwork. The artwork inserts the mascot into pre-existing pictures while attempting to emulate the art style of those pictures as closely as possible.

One of these promotional images was based on Paper Mario, which featured the mascot wearing Mario’s outfit.
