Somethign

I tell you this, my son, for I have failed you and our siblings. My brothers and I were never the glorious soldiers you were told. We were never the glorious sword forged in light, we were never the protectors of the innocent, we never created anything of true merit. We were blunt tools used by a false cruel god who used us for her eternal conquest. Who never saw past her own failures, and when she died she cursed me with this immortality and ordered I continue her work.

What I saw as a curse then, a curse that forced me from my destiny; to die in glory. Has only led me to see it for what it truly is. A curse to see my own failures. For I, my son, have led you and your siblings astray. As in my youth, told you all that to die is the greatest honor, and to die in war is the greatest of all. So you children killed each other, dying to continue the meaninglessness that I was taught to. And now I see I have only led you to fall even harder. This is my failure, my son, I have failed you all, and now we will never go back.”
