Stained Apron

French Artist

A shoe doll that belonged to a child in the slums of London, c 1905. It was found in an Edwardian London slum, made from the heel of a man’s shoe, a black sock and some scraps of household fabric. It’s now in The Museum of Childhood in Edinburgh, Scotland.

She does not look the least bit remorseful.

In certain areas of Nafarroa, women used to wear two-layered skirts, and would use the upper one to cover their head and torso in case of rain or snow.
