You should consider the "Medicinal Purposes of the Pale" book. Helpful than every other books.
No. We've already had *far* too much pale exposure for one lifetime. Why are you suggesting this to me? There are better books in that bookstore. In fact -- if we're going to get a book, we'll borrow it out from the Central Jamrock Public Library. And it will be from the *non-fiction* section.
But Is It
Don't say another word.

Huh?? We did do as asked! Why must you be this cruel...
*I* didn't say anything either. You are reading into things too much.
Oh of course *you* would say that.
What-- how, pray tell, is that in character for me?
Ah, so you *were* attempting to achieve something specific with that. Stressing the "me" as well, how interesting. Thank you for this, Baby Brother!
No, I was just saying that...
All we ever do is *say things*, Librarian, and yet, this shapes the world.
💌❗❗
@professionalcharmer Such lovely work, for someone who limits themselves so inexplicably.
how do we know you won't lie in ask game
We can't recall a single instance of us lying?

Should we reveal our favourite nickname, we suspect people might withhold it from us - but then, would they expect us to consider this and name the one we'd detest most?
What predicament, Sire!
Honorbound to answer, we give you this:

since you seem so preoccupied with puzzles, Baby Brother, we may have a few for you! Take it as our apology for any distress we might have caused on accident.
First one, for warm-up, is an easy one: Speak my name and I shall disappear - who am I?
Next one, is a more challenging one but *you* are especially equipped to solve it! Speak my name and I shall appear, Make me appear and I'm nowhere to be found, Find me and never see my face, who am I?
The last one is a bit easier on the grey matter and should be on your mind in any case. Speak my name and I shall answer, Hear my answer but not my voice, Hear my voice but not my answer, who am I?
Isn't that fun?
Ah, I know the first one! It's silence. Because if you *say* the word "silence" aloud then it is no longer silent -- therefore, you speak its name and it disappears. How fun! (Though, I suppose not as quite sufficient as a warm-up, as I simply recalled seeing it before rather than properly considering it.)
The second one...
uhhh
I
Uhm
...
Actually... I do have *some* ideas, but I would rather not put myself in a position that would allow you to gain some sort of... well, advantage, I suppose.
An advantage? From a simple riddle? Now, how would that work?
You can just tell us that you do not know how to solve this, Dearest Librarian.
You have the upper hand here in that you are the one who wrote the riddle, and therefore any answers I give you could easily deem incorrect. Or you'll somehow find a way to use my answers *against* me. I can't allow that to happen.
If that is the case why did you choose to answer the first riddle, rather than the other ones? Could it be that you were rather helpless against simple recall, *then* when that was not an option for the next riddle, you actually had an opportunity to consider the situation as a whole? We wonder what the implications could be...
The other two answers are silence, too. Differently. Now can *you* be silent?
:)
Yes.
I'm the interest of honesty we are obliged to point out that you're wrong.
Congratulations, you lasted ten hours before breaking your promise.
This is *exactly* what I mean, by the way.
You told us to "now" be silent. We obliged you there, Baby Brother!
A mystery to us what you may be referring to with your second sentence there. Some elaboration might be in order!
Don't you get semantic with me now.
I mean you could say any of my answers are wrong and completely embarrass me. I could tell you that I think the answer to the second one is love and the last one is Authority and give you my full thought process as to why and you would most likely tell me I am completely wrong and then not give me the actual answer because you know I would find that completely infuriating.
We could also say that you were correct on the first and last and close on the second. How might you react to that, Dearest?
I'd say there's an equal chance you were just saying that to subvert my expectations.
I don't need to know the answers, anyway. There is sorting to do... Authority was right, this is a waste of my time.
Fair, fair...
Perhaps you may want to indulge us when it comes to revealing your thought process, however. We could offer up some thoughts of our own.
Hard to say what Authority is right about, these days, is it not?
First one was just recalling. Second was running off the assumption we were talking about *nouns* rather than an actual who, and while it is cryptic, a riddle talking about finding something and not being able to see its face that I am "especially equipped to solve" seems like it would be accusing me using something personal. The last one you said was "on my mind lately", and there was only one thing that you could have been referring to there, as there has not been much else I believe you would have been interested in. I also do recall that I tend to misinterpret the words of Authority as being negative when he means them well.
Is that what you are after.
In a sense, yes :)
???
*Always* happy to give you more material.
Oh, very good! Since you don't have a choice in the matter.
Here is something we know: the Commander has started lying again.
What statements.
That is for you to figure out this time!
Okay.
Presumably.
Did you come to a conclusion yet, Baby Brother?
Mh. Tick Tock.
@professionalcharmer Even you?
... How long has he been like this again?
Been a bit inattentive, have you? How strange, we have come to expect a keen eye for the Drill Sergeant's sensitivities by now. Whatever else could be on your mind?
