hs bf was on a work trip for 10 days recently and a few days before he came back, he sent me a screenshot for reservations for a restaurant in DC🥺 I love that he always takes the time to research new restaurants and read reviews and looks at the menu (checking to see if the menu is mostly DF) to make his choice on what dinner reservations he'll be surprising me with for our date nights😭

OHHH update on the house we got approved for, the owner backed out and wants to keep it as an airbnb vs. a rental🫩...but we quickly pivoted and we found a different house that we both love even more and we move in next month!

I also went back to San Diego for a week and just got back so I'll have to post about that.

I booked a color analysis and I highly recommend doing one if it's never been on your radar! It was LIFE CHANGING and I wish I had done it sooner. I would've never guessed the colors that suit me that I should be wearing😳 here are some colors I would never pick out while shopping that suit me and are in my color season!

I had a whole day to myself full of coffee shop hopping (drank a total of 4 fun drinks including 2 matchas), walking around old town Alexandria, sitting by the water and people watching, a delicious lunch, browsing a local bookstore, and trying out pens and fountain pens in a stationary store for an hour😌

This past week has been full of a lot of house tours!!! Me and hs bf are moving in together and we finally found one we loved and applied and got approved! Very exciting changes/a new beginning coming soon🌞

Lots of traveling plans going on next month. I'm going back to San Diego for a wedding for a week! 3 of those days I'll be at an Airbnb a walk away to the beach with one of my college besties since I haven't seen/hung out with her in a while. Then, she'll be my date to the wedding since hs bf couldn't come.

I have coworkers that have been here for years and I'm not sure who's throwing in an app? It doesn't hurt to apply though!

~The real tea~ hs bf is still very much in the picture. I have entirely way too much to say about that and how he's/we are a complete 180 in every way from the relationship with ex husband. I know I'd be very curious from the outside looking in👀so very open to any questions here or messages about divorce, starting over, attorney/court stuff, asset division, dating after divorce, dating at 35, etc etc.

Before me and HS bf started hanging out, he said he didn't really watch movies/tv. Speaking of for those who have been here for a few years remember when I had movie pass and paid $9.99 to watch unlimited movies at the movie theater and watched like 15-20 movies every month?!

I had been working from home for the past two weeks, my manager is super flexible so she was okay with all of us working from home since a lot of us don't have that much PTO saved up. Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas turning into holidays made me think NYE and the day after NY were going to be declared holidays too😅

Yesterday was my first day back in the office and I'm happy to be back! I got to catch up with my coworkers/book club besties on all the book recs and what's on our TBR for the month. We yapped for a while and then we yapped with my manager and then I locked in the rest of the day because there was work I needed to do.

❣️I love my job and the people and I definitely will be here for a few years or maybe forever👀

🚫The one and only con with my job is the 1+ hour commute ONE WAY!! This is with 6 lanes heading one way and the ez pass lanes switch from north to south when people get off work so it's still 6 lanes going in the same direction on my way home. If I took ez pass all the way to work it would be around $60 ONE WAY but it fluctuates and could be much more depending on traffic, but about $120 round trip and that saves everyone time if traffic is worse than your usual traffic so worse than my hour. I strategically get on and off one way to save myself 20-30 minutes for $15-20 sometimes when the traffic is making me sleepy and it's so bad that it's going to take well over an hour to get home.

I haven't updated in a while about work things/new job but it's going really well especially since we started a work book club😌our first read/meeting was for red rising and we went out to lunch at a cute cafe where I had a sandwich, matcha, and a pumpkin croissant, everything was so good!

What's crazy is that I work in a male dominant field and the very few girls I work with do not read. I invited everyone to join the book club including the girls K, A, S, and N and how they should join because it'll be fun...but they all said they weren't interested in reading for fun😭😭😭

The guys at work are my work besties because we talk books every day especially E, he literally reads at the bare minimum 100 pages a day and every morning he comes to my desk to update me on what he's reading, what he finished, and what he plans on starting. Then he asks me what my reading updates are for the day.

Never posted this but one of the things I have learned to enjoy about going into the office in person is all my cute outfits. I was wearing flats in warm weather, but can't do that in the winter.

I forgot to post about our NYC trip at the end of August for hs bf's birthday. We had the best time!!!! If we're ig friends you definitely saw this a long time ago😂

Who would've thought I would love watching tennis? Hs bf has always been a huge fan and got me into watching. We were talking about going again next year and watching more days because we loved watching in person. We also saw Hell's Kitchen which is an amazing broadway show, plus we're both Alicia keys fans. We went to a Mets baseball game and saw so many home runs!

I'll be there for about 2 weeks and then we'll be roadtripping to Copenhagen. From there, she mentioned Sweden? Idk that's why I bought a one way ticket😂

🏙️I am planning to come back around August 25th so I can be back in time for HS bf's birthday. We're going to take a NYC trip to watch the U.S. open and Hamilton.

👩🏽‍💻Basically having all the fun before I start a new job!!! Yes, A NEW JOBBBB😭I got a job offer I'm really excited about!

I'm currently looking at places for rent closer to the job, if you know dmv/dc traffic then you'll know living 45 mins from work means commuting 2 hrs💀 It's fully in person every day, which I said I didn't want at all...but the times I've been fully in person are the times I had to love my job and the work is definitely work I'd love doing and it would get me excited to wake up and go to work!

One of my must haves in any job is an amazing manager that knows what they're doing, advocates for me, and genuinely cares. From past experiences, even the one time I had a nice manager without anything else BUT didn't know what they were doing...yeah that still played a huge part in me being miserable at work😵‍💫

At my last job, I had the most amazing manager and when I initially interviewed with him that really solidified how much I'd love working there and I really did love that job. I definitely would still be there if we all didn't get laid off lol.

Anyways I got the same feeling in the interview I had with my future manager, super good vibes, super transparent, and I really clicked with her!

📚It's crazy that I moved from San Diego, a city you would think have a ton of different book clubs. My hometown and the city next door has like half the population of just the suburban area alone in SD I lived in...and there are sooooo many more book clubs here! I've been to 6 different book clubs now!

I think I'm eliminating one for good (the one I hosted), because all the different book clubs got progressively way better after that one? So now I feel like I have to drop at least 3 lol. And then the silent book club I did like along with one other one, but I just really love the other 3 way more. The issue is sometimes the meetings land on the same day😭thankfully they all mostly run at different times. Two of my favs were on the same day this past weekend, one in the morning and then the other was in the afternoon. In July, all 3 of my favs will be back to back in the same day but I really want to go to all 3😅

🎲 ALSOOO I've been to 2 board game meet ups and they did not have huge board game groups for the type of board games I like to play in San Diego either!! I definitely love the group and laugh and joke a lot so I will definitely keep going. I got to play one of my favorite games, Dominion🤓

🥒OOHHHH and I'm finally back to playing pickleball! I had to take almost 10 weeks off because of my foot injury and it's still swelling here and there but apparently it doesn't help that I have arthritis below my big toe (I found out about it thru the x-ray). Anyways everyone is super nice where I play and I love that it's indoors because I played outdoors in SD.
