Okay work isn’t killing me anymore so time to get back to work

I did the hour class thing which is just the same half hour + one 30 minute pose and uh

what the fuck am I supposed to do for 30 minutes holy MOLY. I tried seeing the shadows and shit and I guess that’s good practice no matter how ugly it came out but MAN.

Okay the biggest thing I got from this one is that I need to get more used to blowing up shit lines. The last pose I put the head in the wrong spot and I kind of knew but I kept trying to draw other things anyway because I thought it was close enough but everything felt super restricted and wrong. When I finally just got rid of the head with like a minute left everything freed up and was a lot easier to place like damn I wish I would have just not been stubborn about it like it’s expected I’m going to place shit wrong just get rid of it and put it in the right spot. Dummy.

also just running the eraser through areas that have become to cluttered with bad lines really helps things out. The second to last pose there was an area on the shoulder that I kept trying to “ease into” looking right, when I really just should have blown it up and remade the area because now it looks like cock. So okay erase things nice goodnight

even with like super heavy focus on just getting proportions right I still struggle hardcore but I hope after like 50 of these it’ll become easier 

I was also actually trying to use this “Line of action” nonsense that I read about a while back, back then I didn’t really understand why I would need that but if I use it as a line from the top of the figure to the very bottom then I can at least fit the legs onto the screen most of the time.

Legs are really the reason I could tell I needed to work on this bad, almost every time I would start drawing them I’d have to extend the canvas because I just didn’t leave myself enough room.

So, a few more of these without timing tomorrow and I’ll try a bunch of 30 second ones to see if I can fit the ENTIRE pose in instead of just jotting down what lines I like

Typed up a thing but the internet went out so uh

I wish someone could tell me if I’m doing the things I’m supposed to because I’m really not sure I never get the whole 30 second pose down

I think the 30 second ones should maybe be like, big iconic parts of the picture that help me scope out where everything should be maybe I’ll try that next time
