The seasons are a-changin', or at least they will be soon. This time of year always has me listening to atmospheric music that reminds me that cooler, crisper whether is on the way. String instruments, airy vocals, and general melodic mastery pave the way for fall in this playlist featuring the musical stylings of Vacationer, Princess Music, Dr. Dog, Braids, Wharfer, Julianna Barwick, and Chris Thile. Listen to this and lean into the fall, why don't you?
It has been a good year for anthems. And I love anthems. So, here are some of my favorite anthems of 2013. Katy Perry, Zedd, Lorde, Lady Gaga, Black Light Dinner Party, Haim, and NONONO grace this roundup of undeniably memorable anthems. Get your blood pumping, take a deep breath and sing along.
In honor of the steamy July 4th holiday weekend, here are some choice summery songs that are sure to light yβall up like firecrackers. This week Iβve gathered hits from Coco O., White Arrows, Hands, Kishi Bashi, Dan Black, Benny Benassi, John Legend, and Miley Cyrus. Have fun! Be safe! Get sweaty.

Once upon a time (a week ago), I received an email from a member of the team at Spotify telling me that I had won two tickets to see Eric Clapton live in concert. I was raised on and love Eric Clapton's music, so naturally, I was completely over the moon about this news! Later today, I am making the journey with a friend to the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT to see the legendary Mr. Clapton perform. The Wallflowers are opening. This is literally a dream come true. Here is a little collection of some of my favorite Clapton tunes. The majority of the playlist is from Unplugged because it is my absolute favorite. Seven songs do not even begin to represent his body of work, but it will have to do.
Hello, dear readers. I hope some of you are enjoying timely Spring weather. I am growing increasingly impatient for warmth now that the weather in New York has been grim and cold for approximately five and a half months now. Yes, I have been vehemently keeping track because I come from the swamplands of Louisiana and I will probably always be a fair weather Southerner. I have put together some songs that will get you psyched for the of the sunny, sultry days of Spring and Summer, wherever you are. The playlist this week features Phosphorescent, On An On, CHVRCHES, Pepper Rabbit, Capybara, Little Green Cars, and Walk Off The Earth. If Spring never comes, at least you'll have some great music to keep you warm. Have at it!
This week, I decided to take the plunge into contemporary pop. I love a great pop song, and the supply today is seemingly endless. This week, I am featuring songs from some pop icons as well as some wildly talented newcomers. The playlist includes hits from AVAN LAVA, Justin Timberlake, Goldroom, Robert DeLong, Icona Pop, Rihanna, and Youngblood Hawke. Pump up your speakers and have a listen!
Happy March, y'all! This week, I have some excellent jazz and blues for you. The playlist features some sparkling gems from the following artists.: Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Pete Lanctot is quite the talented man about town. The Hot Sardines are a force to be reckoned with and jazzed about. Retro-modern Dutch singer Caro Emerald has a voice and magnetic prowess that makes audiences swoon. Lily & the Parlour Tricks have a swell sound and give audiences a reason to be rowdy. Lake Street Dive possess avant-garde musical diversity that goes on for days. He's My Brother She's My Sister are swingy, theatrical, and oh so lively. And finally, one of my longtime favorites, Dave Brubeck, has some mighty fine jazz panache. Dig in!
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! I am amping up the romance and good feelings this week with some songs I love that happen to be about love. The playlist this week features music from β alt-j, You Won't, Goldroom, Snowmine, Local Natives, Macklemore, and Lily & The Parlour Tricks. Listen and spread the love.

With a blizzard approaching New York City, I have been daydreaming of warmer weather and booming brass music. Why, you ask? Well, because Mardi Gras is next week, y'all! I grew up in the Big Easy, and Mardi Gras is one of my favorite facets of the New Orleans experience. I have lots of happy memories of the carnival festivities, but mostly, I remember the music. This week, I put together some big brass band sounds, some classic New Orleans rock, and a few other quintessential tunes from the Crescent City. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
A good, well-balanced, enticing remix is hard to find, so I scrambled around in my personal collection to bring you these gems. You will hear some Tame Impala, Ellie Goulding, Florence + The Machine, Ratatat, Lykke Li, Neon Indian, and Arcade Fire floating around in these artful remixes by the likes of Memory Tapes, Flinch, Yeasayer, E*Vax, The Magician, Anoraak, and Damian Taylor.
Live music is way up there on the list of things that make me happiest, so I am gearing up to see some great live shows in 2013. This week, I have gathered some of my favorite songs from bands I will be seeing perform live this year for your listening pleasure. I will be seeing Fleetwood Mac, Hooray for Earth, Tame Impala, Purity Ring, The Maccabees, STRFKR, & The Lighthouse And the Whaler live in NYC and Brooklyn during their respective 2013 tours. Who do you plan on seeing live this year?
Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! The world did not end last week, so here is a festive playlist for your holiday merrymaking.
