"Oh, hey! I thought I'd see you here again, what's up?" { @sshort-circuitt !!! }

Kaiden mustered up a small smile when he saw how excited the boy got at simply seeing his face. Sticking his hands in the pocket of his leather jacket, he twisted his hips from side to side and tapped the tip of his boots off the ground as he tried not to seem nervous. He really was though, he hadn’t been able to get the boys face out of his mind since they spent hours in the diner sharing from the whiskey bottle and he had left so drunk he forgot to even ask for his name or his number.
So after a few days, he built up the courage to walk all the way back to seek him out, telling himself over and over again that there was nothing to be nervous about and that he was just here to get some lunch and chat.
❝ Hey mate, yeah I just uhm… Yeah, I was in the area and thought I’d just pop in to see if you were working. Realized that I was so drunk I didn’t even get your name and felt kinda shitty about it. ❞
K1 would be lying if he said he wasn’t more than happy to see the boy again. He’d been hoping he’d come back, he remembered he’d mentioned coming to the diner often with his mother before K1 started working there and he’d held onto that, hoping to see his face in the old diner again. He’d never been so fond of a living being before, he’d always had a low opinion on them because of how he used to be treated, but not anymore, not with this one at least.
He held the tray in his hands to his chest as the boy spoke, smiling as he went on and almost giggling at how nervous he seemed to be, finding it kind of cute. He bit his lip when he asked him about his name though, quickly coming up with an excuse for having such an unusual name.
“Oh, it’s K1. I know, I know, it’s weird. Don’t know why my parents couldn’t give me a normal name like…I don’t know, Sam or something, but anyway. Hungry? I can get you something, it’s totally on me too. It’d be nice for you to stay for a while, I’d hoped to see you again…”
Kaiden laughed as a way of coping with her nerves, freeing a hand from his pocket to lift it to the back of his neck where it rubbed the small tufts of hair with a small smile still on his face. He looked to the side and lowered himself into the nearest booth, looking up at the boy and his smile turned to a grin when he told him his name, unable to stop himself from laughing again. Not because he was being rude or making fun of him for the unusual name, but simply because of how kind and almost precious he was being. It was a little odd, he’s never met anyone this happy and polite aside from Esther, but she couldn’t really help herself. That girl couldn’t be mean even if her life depended on it, her last words will probably be an apology.
Drumming his fingertips on the table, he stuck his lip ring between his teeth and tugged on it, nodding his head at K1′s question. His eyes trailed up and down as he studied the way he stood and acted, almost as if he was embarrassed but when he caught the smile on his face, that possibility left his head and he determined he was just a happy individual.
❝ It’s okay, some people are creative and possibly a bit kooky. I’m Kaiden, my name means little dragon, K1′s an odd one but it’s cool, kinda funky but why don’t we just call you… I dunno, Sammy? Food sounds nice, if you insist on paying then let me take you out for a drink after your shift or something? I’d feel bad if I didn’t do something in return, when do you finish? ❞
K1 smiled and followed him over to the booth, sitting the little tray down on the table as they talked and held his hands behind his back, the action having been written into his coding since he was made. It bothered him a little that he always automatically done that when he wasn’t doing anything, the action reminding him of when he when he served his creators, but he brushed it off.
He tilted his head to the side a little when he watched the boy bite down on his lip ring, confused as to why so many people had pieces of metal stuck into their skin, not understanding it at all. He’d have to ask him. It did look nice on him, though.
“Little dragon? I like it, it’s nice. Thank you, I- I like Sammy much better though, I’m okay with being called that. Oh, okay, sure, I finish in fifteen minutes! What do you want to eat? I wish I could sit with you while you ate, but I can’t right now, I’m sorry.”
