The High School Jungle

The recent revelation of the implicit existence of microbeads in products we use regularly has indeed been very dreadful to know. The immediate and long term effects the microbeads have on the environment is truly shocking to hear. The deleterious effect the microbeads implicitly have on the environment is overwhelming. It is distressful to realize that among several factors that limit the life of marine organisms, microbeads inadvertently have long been one. Considering the high frequency of the demand of such products in the UAE itself, stringent actions have to be taken to ensure that the diaphanous ecosystem that has been supporting these marine life forms remains intact.

Today was so awesum, we got the results of our empathy styles which we did almost a week ago and I was artistic and I had planning qualities as that of an engineer. Mr. Rob (the team building specialist) arranged a bunch of amazing activities to encourage planning and execution. One of them involved building a mountain as high as possible using nothing but 3 cardboards (which were 150 x 100 cms). This involved a lot of planning however we did not place in the top 3 tallest towers made by other groups. We were informed that on the coming Saturday, we were going to be making our own commercial for our product which required the actual planning and execution from the groups. I am psyched to see how I am fortunate to receive an opportunity to learn team spirit by cooperating and coordinating with members who themselves are capable members. At the end of the day we met Mr. Rajeev Kakar who is the CEO of Dunia as I mentioned in my earlier post. Will be posting pictures later….

Hey there!!!

I have been selected for this really awesum internship program here in the middle east and it is the Dunia Young Business Leaders Program which is a very invigorating summer program. The main aim of this program is to instill in students a sense of business acumen which they can develop and try to create a difference in the  people around them and lead to the team to acquiesce to larger targets through the constantly improving spirit to develop oneself everyday. Coming to the main part, today was the first day of the third annual rendition of the program. We were given special t-shirts with our names printed on it which was pretty awesum..... and we got our identity cards(which I will be attaching in my next post. We started off with the welcome note and we were happy to find these binders(which I will also be attaching in the next post). These binders contained personalized messages hand signed by none other than Mr. Rajeev Kakar himself and another letter from Mariam Elsamny the program dean. I was in a state of elation upon realizing that letters were actually signed by the CEO and Mariam Elsamny themselves. 

Moving on with the day......our group was asked to create a business plan of our own and they were a total of 8 groups which meant a total of 8 ideas. We got to work and we were given our own white boards to work on and brainstorm. Soon we met a speaker Mr. Raman who discussed with us the prospects of Dunia before it set out as a start-up(part of which was our pre-course assignment). After this interesting session we has our meals from subway and we then carried on with our work...soon we had an engaging session with Mr. Magnus Olsson who immersed us into his session by telling us what he felt were the key strategies he employed for his company to turn into a success proposition. We then finished our project for the day which was basically identifying the unique proposition of our project. We then wrapped up for the day and I came home..... Will be writing more soon.....

I know this is my first time trying college imagines (do they even exist elsewhere?)

(I dream this is reality)

It was an ordinary Sunday morning where I woke up at about 4:00 am. I walked slowly towards the main door and picked up the daily newspaper. My eyes were watery since I had just woken up... When I picked up the newspaper which was lying flat on the ground, I noticed this bulky light brown envelope which had the word ACCEPTED written in bold letters, upon looking carefully I realized that it was an acceptance letter from non other than Stanford University itself!! My joy knew no bounds, tears started flowing through my eyes as they fell upon the envelope creating tiny splotches on it. Everything I had worked for had come true. I could imagine my proud father smiling at me for I had beat all odds and made into my dream University. Upon looking at the envelope I couldn’t help but think about all that my parents have sacrificed in order to get me where I wanted to go. I had fulfilled my parents my parents expectations and I showed the world that I a person from a remote corner of the world could break through all barriers and make it past one of the most rigorous admission processes in the world!! Soon my mother came out of her room  and her happiness knew no bounds. I never thought I could see my parents share the happiest moment of their lives with each other, that too because of me. I worked hard for my parents with the hope of supporting them in the future for all that they have done for me and I feel I have finally taken the first step in achieving my dream by opening the door to limitless possibilities which I may use to become capable of serving my community in some way in the future..... What the future holds for me is uncertain, I want to cherish this moment forever.......

Hey!!! I am running in the full swing of my mid terms and just another week to go!! :D However more importantly I came to realize this awfully amazing truth. Well randomly putting i, I call it a cycle, kind of like most of us just go to school come back home and study hard, try to get good grades and make something of their life, However I feel the ones with true desires reach the peaks of where they want to be and that is usually the top of what is ‘seemingly impossible’ for others. Now what I mean by this complex statement is, anyone can literally make it to the best colleges like Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Yale....etc. provided they have the desire to. So this ultimately leads to the notion that we have to find some motivation, our parents or the fact of a brighter life afterwards etc.. I believe this will keep me charged with motivation and I will never drop from the fight. I feel my motivation is to make my parents happy and to see that special smile on my father’s face that I have never seen. For that sake I am going to sweat blood to and work hard to make it into the University that I wanna make it to and for some reason I feel like declaring it .. which I will be doing in my next post ;). Hey guys, 

Well today I’m not as hyper but I wanted to share with you a heart touching story. I have this distant cousin who I have never even met. I heard that he was slightly dwarfed and was also physically disabled. His mother in effort to recover her son tried some awkward steroid on her son. Well in India, most of the medicines prescribed are wrong or the medicine is not manufactured properly. The steroid had damaged and paralyzed my cousin’s body and he was unable to do anything on his own. However the biggest problem was that he was only physically challenged, his mind was still active and strong. He was always subjected to criticism and was ignored and looked upon as liability. As he grew up, his mother’s health had dropped leading her to her death bed. With a shrewd mentality, none of his immediate family decided to take responsibility for my now in despair cousin. About a week  after his mother had passed away, I heard that my cousin had passed away as well..........

In ideal circumstances, they say he died as he could not stand his mother’s transition into another world. But form what I heard, ----- he was killed helplessly by his very on blood related relatives. Thus not even reaching reaching the of 20 he was subjected to a gruesome death, thus zeroing in on all chances of him rising through his disabilities.

We all live in a modern society where such scenarios are restricted to a minimum, but a majority of the handicapped in this world are deprived of their basic rights to fight for their own living. People are always immersed in their own aims and goals that they always find it a nuisance to guide others to find their own goals.....

Hey guys!!! 

Well the other day I posted this really interesting  quote which says “:All things are difficult before they become easy.” Looking at this quote from a deeper perspective I came to realize that this quote reiterates the fact that Practice makes perfect. Many of us may come across several new skills we are inexperienced at. It is something I came across while doing maths. I did a lot of sums of which a lot where very hard while I tries them the first time. They became a lot easier before the exam as I practiced.

The example above kind of explains how everything - relations, friends, studies, etc, etc, -- all takes time develop. It may be hard making friends at first but soon we get used to it and we add the newly developed talent to our pool developed and developing skills. In this manner, this very simple quote gives insight into the most important of the facts that is how we humans learn and grow from new experiences which help us to grow wiser by the moment.

I guess that’s all for today... I’m sleepy and it’s about 11:41 I guess. BTW I forgot to mention that I am not taking my SAT this May 2015. I still haven’t decided my plan yet when I do I’ll try to get at posting it here :)
