tamlin did more for spring and people from other courts in those fifty years than the ic will ever consider doing for the night court. morrigan couldn't lift a pinkie, if you mention doing anything for hewn city she'd start whining throwing up waa waa waa, grown ass woman. cassian kisses the dirt rhysand steps on, if he says bark he out here 🐕. amren is just there for shits and giggles. azriel.

Feyre. Is. A. Bad. Partner.

Her version of communication is to say something once, never bring it up again then silently throw a fit when her partner doesn’t immediately get it. This puts Tamlin in such a negative light because this makes it seem like he doesn’t care. Tamlin cares! He cares so damn much but he isn’t a mind reader like RhySAnd.

Yes she is suffering, yes she has trauma, but the readers are the only ones who know how bad it is. Tamlin doesn’t know this! How the hell can he? We also can’t forget Tamlin is suffering too, he has his own trauma he’s doing through but he doesn’t have the luxury to having time to deal with everything. And he can’t help Feyre if she won’t tell him what’s wrong. Not just mentioning it once or saying the most extreme comments without warning.

She. NEEDS. To. Tell. Him. What. Is. Wrong!

All Tamlin can do is guess and be there for her. If he tries to force her to eat she wouldn’t respond well and the fandom would have a field day claiming it’s another sign of abuse. So he tries to encourage her to get back into her hobbies. But Feyre is the one who chooses not to. Feyre is the one who tortured herself after what happened.

And by doing so she builds these higher than life expectations of Tamlin that he can’t meet. He can’t read her mind, he can’t put his duties to the Spring Court aside, and he won’t let her put herself in danger (FOR HER SAFETY).

They had just gotten free of Amarantha (who Tamlin killed) and the world is in an unstable chaos. It’s not something that can be put aside until Feyre and Tamlin feel better or up to it. And Tamlin is doing his best to get it fixed as quickly and safely as possible because there is more than Amarantha they have to worry about. This is something Tamlin should have told her but he probably didn’t want to trigger her trauma.

Yet Tamlin still tries to be there for her but he can only do so much and for Feyre and her lack of self awareness it’s not enough.

I hate that everytime a newish person says something remotely redeeming about Tamlin they feel the need to make a prefix or use the line of, "I'm not excusing his abuse." The culture has been warped to make them believe this is required.

Like, it's so deeply ingrained that he's the big bad for having his magical accidently explode and trapping Feyre in a house that one time she literally tried to follow him in to a very dangerous situations which would have taken his focus away from his peoples survival and defence, or having the gall to be a bit paranoid with her safety when she was literally being hunted by Hybern (which she even admitted later that Tamlin had been correct) and them both being bad at communication. Oh, and petty name calling because she quite literally fucked everything up, could have compromised him as a double agent and he was rightfully mad.

All that he's done is still not comparable to what Rhysand has done in the name of getting what he wants, even when it comes to belittling his own people (because yes, HC and Illyrians are also his people), yet you never see a prefix about Rhysand. No, dude just gets to live merry in the narrative and fandom because he's the "best." Hell, Feyre and the entire IC have done worse shit than Tamlin, but they get far more leeway due to MC bias.

It's slightly similar with Nesta being viewed as irredeemable, but I'd argue both Tamlin and Nesta have been through and have done enough in these god damn books. They simply receive hate because they are viewed as being directly opposed to the IC, and The Mother knows that's a big no-no.

Those who want to post something about another character not particularly liked, go ahead. I promise you, you're not any of these stupid words some stans tries to insult you as. It's their way of silencing and limiting perceptions and its understandably uninviting/daunting.

I always imagined the Day Court being in the desert (I don't remember if that's canon). It's known for its libraries and people who specialise in spell work. Helion is described as wearing white and gold. It always reminded me of ancient Egypt. The libraries specifically reminded me of the library of Alexandria.

So I found some ancient egyptian attire that I believe would look perfect for Day.

But Feyre chose to leave him for Rhysand. A high lord who doesn’t care about his people or anyone else he can’t manipulate. A liar who lives in dreams and can talk a big game but never follow through. Someone who commits SA and hides information without a single apology for his behavior. And wears a mask because it’s so important that no one knows who he really is instead of using his power and ability to help the people he refuses to help with the exception of one person.
