Should a mom-to-be be left alone during her delivery?

As a mother who breastfed both of her daughters, I do feel a woman should wear a nursing shawl when nursing in public. Why? Is it because she should be ashamed to show her breasts or some such silliness? No. The simple reason is that nursing without a nursing shawl is like chewing with your mouth open. It shows a lack of manners. While I don't think it should be against the law/policy to nurse without a shawl in public or on a plane, I do think people should do so voluntarily.

Huffington Post recently published an article titled "23 Trends Guys Hate (But Women Love)" and not too many people are happy about it. The article lists fashion items that are commonly worn by women today and pairs them with a quote by a man who doesn't understand why women wear them. But fashion is subjective. Fashion can mean the edgy pieces you see on the runway for Fashion Week in Paris, and it can also refer to someone's personal style based on their personality and preferences. What one person considers fashionable may not mean the same for another. That's why we think this article is problematic. We don't agree with the generalization that all women only wears the kind of clothes listed in the article, and we also don't agree with the broad generalization that women dress this way for men. And we certainly don't agree with the generalization that men hate when women dress in fashionable clothing or that men believe women should dress in a certain way.
