Hey everyone, I also wanted to comment on all the current drama, because I have the feeling that many people now feel insecure in relation to Patreon. Here in Germany data protection is very important and therefore for me personally a natural thing. If you violate the law (unintentionally or intentionally) you get a damn high penalty.

Patreon is a company from the USA, but even there it is stated in the Terms of Use that it is not allowed to share personal data as a creator. 

So you should not have to worry about that in general. Just as it is with other webshops. As a Patreon creator I only see email addresses, names and profile pictures (and this is information that I and every other creator should handle very sensitively). I DON’T see bank information or anything like that.

If a creator seems strange to you (e.g. extremely high prices, CC only via links) and you can prove it, please report this person directly via Patreon. This is very important!
