The domus de janas are prehistoric tombs dug into the rock typical of pre-Nuragic Sardinia domus de janas, both isolated and in groups, were built starting from the Neolithic, towards the middle of the 4th century BC. They are small caves entirely dug into the rock where man, following particular rites, buried the deceased, with the bodies that were arranged in a fetal position. hypogeal tombs so called because, according to Sardinian mythology, they were the homes of the weaver fairies who hid their treasures there.

In early 1970s, my wife and I were rear ended by a new Citroen on New Years Eve. We were at a dead stop, turning left, when the Citroen rammed into the back of my 1968 F250 Ford PU with a diamond steel bumper. The Citroen was occupied by 4 or 5 drunk teenagers, which they had borrowed from their boss. It was totaled, the kids were bloodied, but nothing too serious. My truck was undamaged. We helped push the wreck out of the road and gave the kids a ride home in the back of the truck. I’d bet their New Years Day wasn’t too happy!!
The Smith Building in Seattle, Washington, US
American vintage postcard, mailedin 1927 to Brussels
Built in 1914, Seattle’s Smith Tower, was once the tallest building west of the Mississippi, at 484 feet. Now, it is dwarfed by modern day monsters!
Mon cadeau ce soir ...
Yuja Wang apporte sa virtuosité caractéristique à la « Rhapsody in Blue » de Gershwin, interprétée ici aux côtés de Mahler Chamber Orchestra
I had the privilege of seeing Yuja Wang perform in Rome and was completely mesmerised. What lingers in my memory is the vivid lime-green dress she wore, impossible to separate from the brilliance of the music she drew from the piano.

Sprout (2026)
In the early 1950s, Iso Spa made refrigerators and scooters. Owner Renzo Rivolta moved into cars with a tiny, egg-shaped model using a motorcycle engine. The Isetta was introduced in 1953 and sold well but trailed off with sales ending in 1955. Rivolta’s trick was to licence production, most notably to BMW, for whom the Italian bubble car was a life-saver, selling a total of 161,728 units and keeping the company afloat when production ended in 1962.
Maybe a lifesaver for BMW, but a death trap for occupants. I remember the Chevy Corvair, A cool car, but too dangerous!
