at least the goblins and the gremlins don’t come out until night time. dracula doesn’t hide his fangs. if you hold a rattlesnake, and it bites you, you knew it was filled with poison before you picked it up. so who’s fault is it really? the haunted houses usually have cobwebs outside; forewarning you what you’re about to walk into. and you already know exactly where the creatures in your closet, in the dark, or under your bed hide…   the best doctors are the ones that tell you that the needle is going to pinch beforehand, am i right? and don’t you worry! the witches’ always have a wart on their nose, or a broom at least. don’t be so quick to be frightened by what’s blatantly in front of you.

cause you wanna know what’s the scariest monster of them all?

the ones that hide in broad daylight; disguised as the rest of us. 

the ones with pretty faces, pretty words, pretty lives. the ones gliding through life on their trail of manipulation. the ones who’s masks don’t ever come off. sugar and honey dripping from through their smile as they play you like a chess pawn. having sweet dreams on the clouded reality they’ve built around them.

“you’re crazy” is already formed at their tongue ready to spit it out if you dare accuse them of such, though. “i would never do that” is fully loaded in their nightstand at night so they can sleep peacefully.

trust your instinct, or beware. i’d rather pass a black cat than a manipulating rat.

and you’re exploring an abandoned asylum and then you find this hospital bed complete with stirrups and restraints. (this is more a prompt for future me more than anything)
