People who get mad when a bad dude gets traded to their team really confuse me
Do you think ALL the other dudes on your team already are good guys? You think on a team of like, at least 20 rich men, (owned and run by even richer men) theyāre all good people? Are you truly convinced that one bad man being traded to your team will tip the scales?
Like, no, I donāt like that guy either, but he doesnāt ruin the team for me, because I have zero standards for them as individuals. If it came out that they were all terrible people I would not be surprised in the slightest.
#also Iām talking about hockey so this is a team full of rich white dudes from mostly Canada and America#and people really have themselves convinced that their team is the only one made up of good guys#Iām just wondering why you think the rest of them are cool?#obviously this doesnāt go for things they should be in jail for#if a dude did a crime and got away with it for being rich and famous then that is not who Iām talking about#I mean like personality and politics wise#Iām not fooling myself into thinking any significant number of these men are what I would consider to be good people#therefore when a new not great dude gets traded to my team itās not shocking to me#is he good at hockey? okay then Iāll watch him#his job is being good at hockey not being a nice guy#I totally understand that itās upsetting how much gets ignored in sports#but it certainly isnāt helping to put your team/your favorite on a pedestal and convince yourself that theyāre better/different#also yeah I hate that dude but i inherited this team from my father#itās not so simple#if you chose your own team and want to leave because of a bad dude then more power to you#Iām physically tied to this team like nothing else In my life#I could not stop watching them if I wanted to#and trust me Iāve wanted to#genuinely losing this team would lose me half of my wardrobe#plus whatever Iād spend on the new team#itās a financial choice at this point
