Comprehensive list of types of episodes of The Twilight Zone
Guy wants to travel back in time but once he gets there he finds that it’s not as cool as he thought it would be
Guy wants to travel forward in time and then finds out it’s not that cool
Guy is sent to the future accidentally, with varying results
War happens and it’s bad for everyone and you’re more like the enemy than you think
Love is very important and Magic is real if you believe hard enough (also have faith in god probably)
Aliens are here and they’re very scary
Aliens are here and it’s fine (maybe)
Aliens may or may not be here but the moral of the story is that we are our own worst enemy
Normal story about someone who is seemingly mentally unwell, turns out they were right and that’s just how things are in The Twilight Zone
It’s the very distant future (like maybe 1995) and we’re in Space
It’s the very distant future (like maybe 2000) and we’re still on earth but things are very different
Check out these Normal People but oh shit actually they’re aliens (or maybe Adam and Eve) and actually now we’re on earth but we weren’t before
Hey you died and now you’re in heaven (maybe)
Imagining the fans of the losing team angrily crossing their arms every time the Organ Man plays If You’re Happy And You Know It
Gleefully watching the background of this episode of twilight zone for glimpses of Leonard Nimoy
I love you orangey

people who don’t watch horror movies are SO confident that they know everything there is to know about the genre. like it’s okay to not know things. it’s okay if you don’t like friday the 13th or whatever. i promise you don’t need to make an ass out of yourself on the internet about it
horror is an incredibly diverse genre, because there is potential horror in everything. it’s in nature, it’s in architecture and technology, it’s in human relationships, it’s in folklore, the past, the future, the mundane. there are horror movies from all over the world. it is straight up anti-intellectual to pretend that the handful of B slashers you’ve vaguely heard about comprise the totality of what horror has to offer. If you’re just not interested in horror, or if you dislike certain subgenres of horror, then that’s fine, you’re not obligated to like anything at all. but smugly announcing that you don’t like horror because you dislike a handful of VERY specific non-universal tropes is just as stupid as saying that you hate comedy because you don’t like adam sandler movies.
this is what I mean by anti-intellectualism btw
Yall the poll was general on purpose, I know it depends. You were supposed to break that part down yourself.
“Depends on how horny i am” okay, how frequently are you horny? Answer accordingly
“Depends on the story” okay so which type of story do you prefer? Do those more commonly have smut or no? Answer accordingly
“This is like asking if I prefer food with or without sugar” well yeah, that’s another general question. Some people prefer sweet food, some people never eat sweets, some people add sugar to their coffee, and some people avoid anything with added sugar.
“There should be an option for liking both equally” that would fall into the ‘not a consideration’ category
If I put an ‘it depends’ category 90% of people would pick that and I would get no statistics. Obviously what fics you read depend on a lot of things, the point of this poll was to see how dependent your choice of fic is on the presence or lack of smut.
Do you prefer fanfiction with or without smut?
I only read smut
I prefer it but I’ll read fics without
I prefer no smut but I’ll read it
I don’t read smut
It’s not a consideration/don’t care if it’s
Another answer (explain in the tags)
Because I saw some discourse that was upsetting me (ignore the typo it’s too late to fix it)
Watching tng with my younger sibling and they can’t figure out why I love Miles O’Brien so much

Every time I make a post on here nowadays I'm kind of actively waiting around in anticipation for how some people are going to twist and misinterpret it in the worst ways. It's more impressive than anything at this point. Like wow, you could get THAT out of the words I typed? Truly spectacular state of mind. A train of thought I would never have. This world is full of wonders.
I wish female sports fans didn’t constantly have to justify their liking of whatever sports they choose
Let men make their assumptions, they’ll call you a puck bunny or whatever either way, even if you gain their favor and justify yourself enough, they’ll take it out harder on the next woman who doesn’t rush to justify themselves.
I don’t care why you like watching the sport, I don’t care if you know the rules, I don’t care if you like my team because you think someone’s hot, I don’t care if you bandwagon for my team, I don’t care if you can’t tell me what icing is. I’ve been watching the hawks for as long as I can remember, why would I care if teenage girls like them now? Oh they ‘only’ like them because they find a guy hot? I doubt that, and even if it’s true, why should it bother me? I have no claim to this team or any man on it
These men act like they’ve never watched a show or listened to a band because they found someone hot, were you a fake fan of that movie you chose to watch because of a hot actress?
No, so why is a woman a fake fan of baseball just because she finds her favorite guy hot? Surprise, teenage girls and women have brains capable of paying attention to more than one thing at a time, that man is hot and good at his sport. Why does this confuse them? Are they unable to pay attention to something once there’s a hot woman on their screen? Or do they genuinely think women are just so stupid that they can’t know the rules and look at attractive men at the same time?
getting fixated on something is funny because the first like week i have an insatiable need to tell everyone i know about it and spread the good word but by weeks 2 and 3 it becomes so intense and personal that even hearing it mentioned in public makes me sweat as if a dark secret was alluded to

How does mental illness work in Star Trek?
Therapy is so good that everyone’s fine
They accept and accommodate mental illnesses/disabilities
There’s a pill that cures whatever’s wrong with you
Mentally ill people go to The Box
mix of all
Some other answer
(I know we get some depictions but its usually only criminals and also it’s not descriptive enough for me, tantalus is for criminals, in ds9 they have that facility for people that are messed up because of genetic modification, the therapy they show in tng sucks, no one on voyager ever gets any help)

Someone told me that hunger games is more appropriate for a young child than twilight (the books specifically) and I need to know if I’m crazy
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to say that either are appropriate for children. I read twilight from ~7-9 years old and hunger games shortly after because a teacher said that a lot of people she knew liked both.
As a kid I was annoyed because I was there for the vampire romance, and she handed me a book with no vampires and not a whole lot of romance (not none I know, but not nearly as much as twilight, and not enough for it to be the main reason you’re reading it imo). But as an adult it honestly just seems like a strange recommendation to give to a 9 year old.
Sure I understood those books textually, but there was no way I was picking up on all the subtext in either. Which is what tells me that one was more appropriate (for me at least, I know everyone develops differently). Because I wasn’t going to understand a lot of the stuff that is explained in between the lines, I wasn’t picking up on the parts that make twilight such a strange romance. Also, because it’s a fantasy setting, I was never trying to compare it to real life, the depictions of violence are very fictional, the implications of sexual situations are few and far between (until the last book at least). But in hunger games, those are children, there are graphic depictions of children killing each other, we are aware that the winners are then often prostituted out to the capital.
The issues with twilight, to me, are more of an external thing. The books were written by a strange woman who chose to depict a lot of things (stalking, abuse, age gaps) in a much more normal light than they should be, but to me, the fantasy setting removes a lot of the danger. Think about watching a show like the walking dead vs a movie about war, both will undoubtedly depict people doing horrible things, but in the fantasy setting, it’s much easier to think from an outside perspective, and harder to imagine yourself in the scenario. With a more realistic setting, such as a historical fiction movie about a real war or a realistic fiction movie about a fake, but realistic, war. We tend to imagine ourselves in that situation (or at least I do), and it becomes harder to separate yourself from the story you’re consuming. As someone who tends to imagine myself in the universe I’m reading about (but didn’t understand this as a kid) I don’t know that the hunger games was great for me.
I don’t think I understood a whole lot of any message being sent by either of these books, but I was certainly trying to, and I do not think that would have been good for me. As a child reading twilight, I tended to write off the strange parts as ‘things that work in that universe’, sure it’s normal there but it would never happen in real life, whereas the hunger games almost felt like it was forcing me to imagine how I would react in a similar situation.
as we enter another period of horrific online censorship, remember this:
you must protect the anime titty for the anime titty's sake as well as for the sake of queer people and sexual education (etc). it is good and beautiful for there to be cheesy games to masturbate to. nobody is growing hair on their palms and going blind.
kill visa and mastercard with your bare hands
They start with the anime titty, but they never stop there. Censorship is a ship that tosses a few overboard but never tells you the plan is to drown everyone on it.

hi op here and i know you all agree with me! we are not fighting, but i want to stay on the topic of my post:
even if online censorship was only going to ban stereotypical titty porn that is made for heterosexual men to jerk off to and leave all the other things alone, that would still be bad.
