footsteps loud ;

       “ already on it. been living with her so long, i thought i could’ve accomplished it by now. but brynn is kinda scary… idunno how she tunes out everything she hates so well. ” alex realizes she thought she did that too, but it turns out she just doesn’t hate much at all. she’s realizing in the face of all annoyances, she’s not as good as ignoring it as she originally thought. “ definitely don’t wanna fight with jude. i don’t think he’d punch a lady, but you never know, people are acting all out of sorts right now… ” her eyes widen at the idea and she shakes it off. jude’s not fun when he holds a grudge, but he’s not a complete psychopath. “ oooh, yeah. i need someone to keep lookout for me while i restock on sourpatch kids. the cashier there is starting to catch on to my sticky fingers… ”

esther: karma and u might not be THAT close considering u almost died but

        after the night he had, he’s absolutely exhausted, and the “rest” their supposed to get seems impossible considering their new living situation. even if exams are cancelled, kenny finds comfort in studying. it feels productive, like he’s moving forward, or that his time has purpose rather than wallowing in the dorms. but the flooded lawns make it difficult to get anywhere. he’s stuck at the edge of the grass that isn’t completely soaked, trying to evaluate just how to get to the library without wading through the water. 

she smirked at hudson as she worked on getting herself dressed. ironically, having sex in a random supply closet had been the optimal choice in location to relieve some tension for the two women. “glad i could be of service, princesa,” she moved her hands up to the hem of hudson’s top, before running her hands down the exposed skin. “come smoke with me later. you’re the only person who knows how to not kill my buzz.” 

          ‘ yeah, well — ’ he’s got no witty retort, one hand rising to rub his eyes in frustration. he misses his room in pythagoras, something he never thought he’d say — he misses kenny’s nagging, eli tiptoeing around — his own bed, his own peace. between esther and brynn, his patience is already worn thin, at a breaking point; and nothing she says can convince him otherwise. ‘ jesus christ, esther. give it up. ’ jude spits the words out. ‘ stop with the stupid fuckin’ denial. ’

“don’t you mean make it easier for you? i’m not the one who cries like a little pendeja for everything,” she mocked esther before rolling her eyes at her ex-girlfriend, if she could even call her that. teresa never saw her as more than a mark, even if she’d been the wrong one, not that she would ever voice that out loud, least of all to the annoying female.
