Med student concern solved: how to best kick back and enjoy the rest of a day following an exam... make a homemade Bloody Mary!
I adapted this recipe from Former Chef by halving the ingredients and omitting one of them. The result was fantastic.
1 Tbsp dijon mustard 0.5 Tbsp creole mustard 1.5 Tbsp worchestershire sauce 1 Tbsp prepared (white) horseradish (I used Gold's) 1 Tbsp hot sauce (I used Tabasco) 1.5 oz lemon juice (fresh squeezed; ~2 lemons) 0.5 oz lime juice (fresh squeezed; ~1 lime) 1 Tbsp olive brine (juice from a jar/container from an olive bar) 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper 1 tsp kosher salt 3 11.5 oz cans of Campbell's tomato juice (buy them in a 6-pack!)
Mix the ingredients together. The mix-to-liquor (I choose the classic vodka) is 2-to-1. Be careful--this is spicy and strong!
