I’m “humble” about my grades because I don’t want you to compliment me on them. If you do, I feel happy and proud, and if it happens enough, I start to associate my grades with happiness and view them as a part of my identity. If that happens, even the THOUGHT that I might fail is enough to make me actually feel like I’m going to throw up.

I don’t want to be grade obsessed, but I also don’t want to feel like a failure.

My grades are not the reason you should think I’m smart. I am! I just want you to think that because of ME, and not an average on a paper.
