agents of justice âŚ; nice & naoto
ââ â ; Rumors were spread quickly in this bustling town, considering the fact that there were so many citizens. However, the stories would be changed up almost every time they were passed on to each other; it was practically like a large game of telephone but with real stories that can possibly endanger anyone who passes it along. Due to several crimes happening that only the police force knew all of the information of, incorrect rumors were started constantly. Naoto would hear them on certain occasions while wandering the city. She was nearly always put on a local case, seeing as though she couldnât exactly leave Koi. Busy, busy, busy was a life of a detective.
This time, the rumors were about a detective agency that consisted of one man who was only but a year older than the girl. She had taken interest into this little business of his and managed to track him down; he was only in high school but managed something like this by himself. How peculiar. The chance to meeting this person face to face was very likely, as she had cleared her schedule for that entire day just to speak with him about the crimes happening recently. Perhaps heâd be of assistance to the police force. They could definitely use the help of the younger detectives who were vastly intelligent unlike Adachi. Fortunately enough, she had possibly found another asset to their rather small team. Hopefully he would be more than willing to be of assistance.
It did not take much to track this teenager by the name of âNiceâ down. What an interesting name. Ah, he did not have a last name either. This man was quite the mysterious individual already, but she would soon see his visage when meeting. Showing up at his apartment without an invitation was rather rude, but she did not know of any other means to contact him. She was a bit worried about possibly putting herself into danger but this was all a part of being a detective. However, she did not exactly care too much about that at the moment since she was slightly ecstatic to know of another young detective.Â
Pulling her ID out, Naoto gave the door in front of her a quiet knock, hoping she was not disturbing this man. Inquiries that she should start out with began flooding her mind as she waited patiently, eyeing the door carefully. How wold she approach this situation? This was probably going to be rather abrupt since she did not warn him beforehand. At the sound of the hinges of the door creaking, Naoto studied the other for a few moments before holding out her identification card in front of the boy, âI apologize for intruding so suddenly. If my information is correct, you are Nice?â she spoke quickly, eyes moving to glance up at his face once more, focusing on watching his facial features as she spoke to him. âI am detective Naoto Shirogane from the local police force. We heard of your detective agency which had intrigued a number of us. I was sent here to question if you would assist us with our cases in the future since we do have a rather small team.â her voice came out smoothly and audible, hope obvious in her voice; her expression was unchanging as she stood in front of the doorway, waiting for an answer.Â
It was more or less unusual for these sort of random visits to occur. Koi itself didn't have a compelling need for someone with a combination of detective intellect, and strange super human powers, such as Nice. A few little calls here and there left the lone Hamatora detective void of any jobs as of late.Though it was a shame, and left him doing other sorts of odd jobs to provide himself with a decent living, As decent as one would expect. The 'Broke' detective name still stood true.  But what Nice didn't really expect to see at all... Was someone from the Police force? Sure, it wasn't uncommon for Minimum holders to take jobs from the Police on occasions, but it was their usual table scrapes, or things beyond their capabilities. And, it was never something done together. They were a separate entity from the police body of work. And after some events, it wasn't a surprise that the request evoked a certain feeling of negativity in the pit of his stomach. He was sure his face was reflecting such thoughts as well.
It wasn't as if he hated those who made their claim to the title of Keepers of the Peace. In all honesty, they kept the annoyance of the world to a minimum. If they weren't constantly scouring the streets in search of crooks, there would be to many instances of noise making, and people freaking out. Stuff that didn't need to happen everyday of the freakin' week. And it didn't! Thanks to people like the fellow standing before Nice. But, without a doubt, there was still this feeling of... Displeasure, unease... He couldn't really name it. Sure, maybe everything in Yokohama had been patched up, and everything was sunshine and flowers, but still...Â
So, Nice decided after a few moments, to give the rather... Short male, an answer. He was already a little annoyed with this situation. So he wasn't going to dawdle on it much longer. Placing his hands on the opened door, he took a stepped back, and waved his free hand dismissively at the Detective. He didn't mean to be rude about the situation, but he just wasn't interested in working with the Police. If they had their own detectives, they surely didn't need him, right? It was a quiet town. And unless their opponent was some sort of minimum holder, they could handle it, right? He was just interested in money, and staying away from the Police.
"Sorry, sorry. Not really interested in working with the Police. Nothing personal. I'm sure you guys got it under control." He hoped that wasn't a rude way to put it, though it was as honest as he could get. And with that being said, he began to push the door shut. Man, he was gonna need a nap now. To much effort.Â
