It might have been better to leave out the bit where she sprayed a health hazard all around the lands, the outsider beginning to question the structure and purpose of her intentions from then. He couldn’t help but come to an amusing idea that she is disgustingly impulsive, often thinking of a plan, but not putting thought to its execution or effects. “I feel it’s better I’m not told of the mists effects. I know the farmers especially were terrified by the mists.”

“I don’t know, I recalled seeing a lighter patch high up of the mist, with these rays of light breaking through. If I could paint, I would have made a piece of that, but for the most part it was relaxing just staring in wonder at the mist.” Compared to his idle thought for the vampire being impulsive, he couldn’t help but make himself sound too overly at ease, the clear conundrum of no sunlight and whatever else having taken roots before being excised. But it was excised, and thus did still give him no reason to worry further about it.

But when she speaks of offense, he couldn’t help but burst into a brief moment of panic. His hands up, his head aback, the last thing he needs is an angry vampire. “I-i-i mean no offense, it’s just I’m thankful for you being more friendly than one expects of a youkai. Not that you are to be considered to be a brute like you mentioned, it’s just nice to meet someone so well mannered!”

But he’d give a sigh, showing ease as she asks about him. Yet she’d receive a knowing look, his frustration with the villages style as plain as day. “I’ve been learning to be a blacksmith for the past couple of years. It can be an escape from village issues, thankfully.”

Even with what you told him...he still had the same vision about the mist?...now, that was new. Something that made your curiosity to grow and find the human a little more interesting. Sure, you didn’t go full into detail about the things the mist could’ve done, but mentioning it could’ve been negative should’ve been enough to change the mind of some.

“I am honored to know you think such a thing about my mist...if I recall correctly, the majority of humans were freaking out about the Incident...but I see that you are different.”

Now, the offense flew over your head as soon as he mentioned that he was a blacksmith, or well, learning to be one. It was honestly weird to hear that someone was following that profession, specially knowing how the Human Village was.

“A blacksmith?...and what do you make? Spoons and forks for the villagers?” Even funnier to think the village was Asian, and thus...people probably used chopsticks still. “Or perhaps you are making weapons so the villagers can kill each other?...I don’t think they will go around trying to kill youkai with those, now.”

Lucky that she cannot touch humans? Well then, he knows one bit of information not to mention.

“Wait, so you were behind all that red mist? I actually found it to be a rather nice sight to see.” At least, when he could find peace from all the panic in the village back then.

Yet when it came to what fueled his being here, she was fairly on point. “Maybe a bit of both, sometimes I wonder that myself.” He did know that individuals could be dangerous; and while he did seem to exercise some degree of pragmatism, she does still have a point. “Yet despite whatever rules in place, you still act a manner decently. For this you have my thanks.”

“I was indeed behind the mist...but I am surprised a human would find it nice. It could’ve been bad for human’s health in the long run, so I don’t think you would’ve found that too funny or nice.~” Well...at first, not even you knew the mist could’ve had secondary effects, but even then, if it wasn’t for the fact you were stopped, you would’ve continued with the plan nevertheless.

“Thank you”, he starts, keeping to his mother tongue. “I appreciate the gesture, but I much prefer English when it’s there.” Why, for being so insightful, Remilia might even get a generous bow!

She had an air of nobility about her, so such an act was only natural. As well too, with the vague recollection of vampires, he recalls a fondness for blood with a disdain of sunlight.

“I just want to say, I came with no ill intent; not to in any way vandalize, or to steal.” He seemed honest enough, for what good it will do him. At the same time, it is her lakeside vista, so he felt it would do well to equally disclose a lack of malicious intent. “I’ve just… never seen this place up close.”

He is here risking his neck for the sake of curiosity? He seems to lack good sense, or has a wellspring of courage to not flee in the mere presence of the vampire. “I’ve heard stories, and I’ve always been victim to them. As disgustingly hopeful as it seems, I find myself one to believe that youkai can be decent individuals.”

At least the man seemed to be respectful and know who he was talking to...knowing that he came here because of mere curiosity, however, made you chuckle softly as one of your hands rested over your hip.

It looked like you were finding all of this to be pretty amusing, counting with that the humans from the village rarely wanted to even come close to the entrance of the castle, but could you really blame them?

“You are probably one of the few brave humans from the village that dared to pass by...I thought the Red Mist Incident or the Vampire Incident would keep all of them away, and yet, here you are...”

Ah, but one that looks upon the outsider as prey, or possibly no more than cattle. Had he arrived later, or her earlier, that might hold true with a grim ending for his life.

But it didn’t; he yet lives, though she was responsible for a _different_ crimson mist than he recalls. Not that he’d know anyways, as he was one of the few to have enjoyed the phenomena.

But he had still found himself up to the vampire.

Putting aside any curiosities of a western creature in an eastern land, he could assume she understood English. Not just that, he had no reason to act in a hostile manner, yet, trying to act decently to this new person.

She would get friendly eyes. And a friendly wave, absent of fear but still brimming with caution. “Hello ma’am, do you understand me?”

Maybe it was really foolish to come here when people knew what to expect from you, but counting with that the man in front of you seemed to come from the Human Village, that gave him a ittle of protection in a sense.

It was all more confirmed when he spoke out loud, attempting to communicate with you with that seemingly poor English.

Already more than you expected, really.

“If I am not around as much is because I don’t have the energy to deal with all those idiots like the other Remilia does...”

“I really don’t see the point in having shame or feeling it. It just bogs you down,”

“I wonder whether you feel shame too. In any case! My name’s Midna. Who might you be?”

“I’m Remilia Scarlet...you little imp...feeling shame or not is something that may have no answer from me.~”

“…The thing is, none of those really sound that important, so…”

“I don’t see what’s so weird about watching two people go at it.”

“Eh...please...surprisingly they’re not all that many, but when one’s looking up at fate they’re shoved at my face on occasion.”

“…And? I haven’t done that yet. Also, it still makes you a pervert for looking at that stuff.”

“…”

“What, read books? That’s all that really comes to mind.”
